Now that the GMR tune-up race is complete, IndyCar teams will begin in earnest in preparing for the 106th running of the Indy 500 beginning Monday of this week. Herta wins the GMR race and Andretti Autosport is looking like they are getting ready ASAP. The next two weeks will be Indy 500 with every day activities. So the thread is open for discussions leading up to the race as is the case every year about this time.

With all of the focus on the two biggest open-wheel series, F-1 and IndyCar, this IMSA series has really begun to take-off and it is growing in both teams participation and viewership or the fans. Andretti Autosport (Michael Andretti) has their hands in this series with a third generation driver Jarrett Andretti. Another series on my bucket list.

That race yesterday on the old F1 track inside IMS... eh... I know they have been doing that for a few years now... underwhelming at best.

When they were Champ cars (CART) I was in. But when they split out IRL I tuned out and have not come back.

That’s what largely did it in for my parents too. Still went to the 500, but definitely didn’t follow full seasons after that

I record the 500 and skim it. It's too long, similar for Daytona.

Andretti Autosport is having engine issues on their qualifying laps. Marco's engine died two laps into his qualifying laps and Herta's engine died as well on his laps. Sato is day-dreaming and blocked Andretti after Sato's qualifying run. Sato should have been on the deceleration track but was nearly stopped in the short chute of Turns 1 and 2.

I liked Jimmie 7 Time a lot.

Had no idea he was running at Indy.

I may now record it to see. and hope he does well.

When you Scott Dixon on pole with a new Pole Qualifying Record, things will be very interesting at the Indy 500 in a couple of three days.
