Hamels Vs Harvey. The good thing is the Phillies are back home. The bad: we are facing Harvey. Hamels has been off his game early on. I think the constant trade rumors are messing with his head. Hamels can get his game back if he stops walking hitters. Revere is starting to hit more doubles which is a sign that he is meeting the ball instead of pounding it in the ground. Howard is starting to come around but you never know which Howard is going to show up. To hard to predict this game but the edge goes to the Mets on paper.

Wow! Ruf is starting again in left field, Revere in right. Phillies lineup looks good on paper. For the longest time Amaro told Ryno that Revere and Ruf could not play right field. Amaro of course is a day late and a dollar short when it comes to common sense. All the while people were calling Ryno the puppet and he could not make decisions on his own. Others said that Ryno is a lot like braindead. The lineup today consists of people who could be a part of the rebuild. No Sisemore or Frenchy. It will be interesting to see if this continues. I hope that Ruf gets a few hits tonight so he can earn some more starting opportunities. I hope the Phillies beat the Mets best pitcher. When facing good pitching the Phillies have not done well. May that change tonight!

Good job Cole! this time I agree with him plunking the Mets guy. Harvey hitting Utley in the back was a joke last time they faced him. i guesshat was he was retaliating for Buchanan hitting two Mets, but that was obviously not on purpose, just ineptitude on Buchanan's part. If anything Harvey should have thrown at Amaro for having such a garbage starting rotation.

Hamels looked great today. Just one run on a wild pitch. Howard was solid and Galvis was outstanding in
the 2 hole.

We managed to slide by the Mets and get a rare win at 11-19. Maybe Sandberg is growing a pair and actually managing the ballclub rather than letting that imbecile in the FO influence ANY of his decisions. Perhaps Larry Bowa is the de facto manager and he has Sandberg's ear-maybe.

This was a great game to see at CBP tonite. Hamels was un-hittable, and we got to Harvey, totally displeasing hundreds of Mets fans with speed boy and crotchman closing it out. Lot of tension in the 9th with one on and Duda up but Paps did the job. Howard looks like a different hitter at the plate, like he was in control - single and a homer, 2 rbi. He's made the right adjustments whatever they are. Galvis was amazing with 3 hits and 2 SBs.

Utley looked miserable, pathetically flailing at a few pitches out of the strike zone in a manner worse than Howard at the height of his slump. In the 8th after he grounded into the DP, it was sad seeing his average on the big scoreboard in bold yellow listed at .099. I believe that Utley has possibly re-injured his hip or some other worn part and I would expect it to be announced soon. Just a guess. Like Doc and Lee, these guys will play until it's really over. What else could it be. Crowd was near 34,000 including dozens of 17 year old virgins in their summer short-shorts. Wow, what a night.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed yourself jvett. Good to see Hamels rebound along with Galvis leading the hit
parade!

Hey guys, I'm hoping that they keep Friday's lineup (Utley, a ?) while using Sizemore and Francoeur in the late innings as they did last nite. Herrera could move into the 3rd spot. Even though Ruf had no hits, they should leave him in and hope he might work it out. Call it MLB seasoning. While it's too early to say there's a new Howard, he has hit 6 HR, .277, 13 rbi, in the last 17 games, mostly off RHP, of course. That would turn out nice over a full season. Odds are he'll sink into that bad groove again but who knows. You gotta be rooting for him.

I almost wish we cold keep Hamels but his value is surely higher with this game and he will likely go. Amaro should be studying contenders' no. 1 prospects because anything less and the Phils are screwed.

We will have Hamels until the all star break. By then someone will have a dire need. Amaro will not be able to get
a number one prospect in a trade. Two B prospects from the lower level and possibly a catcher that can hit a little.
Amaro will have the pressure of trading Hamels by then, but for now there is no rush. The only way we can get a solid prospect is if we pay 10 million a year towards hamels contract. IMO.

Thanks first of all for the recap and secondly for the bit of reassurance you gave all the parents of 17 year olds that were at the game
