Good win by the Phillies. Solid relief pitching as well. Goodnight all! Wherever you are!

I see that Ruiz batting sixth and Asche batting in eighth might have been a good change. Ruf and Asche delivered. Everyone knows they should play these two guys every day except you know who.

I got in late so I missed the majority of the game. I may stop by tonight at some point, but I'll be spending most of my time watching the Rams-Packers game.

You made a good point about the bottom batting order. Guys that get on base and have some power. But Ryno will only play Ruf against left handed pitching. Another glaring weakness in our manager since Ruf hits righties well. We are not going anywhere this season so the time to start him every day is now. HE FINDS WAYS TO GET ON BASE BY GETTING WALKS,HITS AND /OR GETTING HIT BY A PITCH. BROWN NEEDS TO SIT AND HOWARD NEEDS TO PLAY LESS. IMO.

I watched until they tied it. Glad to see we got some clutch hitting from the bottom of the lineup - Ruf and Asche. They should keep Ruf in there.

Yep northeast and jvett. I agree with the consensus opinion here on Ruf and sitting Brown and playing Howard less. The Phillies are just a better offensive ballclub when Ruf plays and when Brown sits. As jvett has stated numerous times, Howard should be batting in the eighth spot when he plays that way you can couple up and plan on your outs by consolidating them in one area of the lineup. If both Howard and the pitcher get on base, its a bonus. But Sandberg is appearing to be myopic like his boss.

Looks like the Rams-Packers game is early so there is a better chance I'll be around this evening for game 2.

Good choice of words. (myoptic.) It is a scary future ahead for the Phillies with Amaro and Ryno at the helm. We need people with common sense that look ahead to what we can become. The whole organization seems to be short sighted. I think the fans have more insight than the management!

I totally agree, Northeast. I very short-sighted approach. Yep, the word myopic applies here, a.k.a tunnel-vision or mental blinders.

Just saw the lineup card for todays game. Same old crap. Howard batting 4th and Brown in left field. Another loss in the making with Kendrick pitching.

Kendrick is holding well. Hope they remove him before he implodes.

Another loss. 54-69. Maybe I'll get back for game 3. Maybe not.

So you were watching the Lakers, I see. lol. Eagles only lost theirs 42-35.

I had some work to do on my vette but I did tune in the Phils once in a while and saw that that had a comfortable lead of 5-1 with KK. Now I see they lost 6-5. Yeah, same ole crap. I told that idiot to play Ruf not Brown. What a waste of 13 hits.

Actually jvett, I was watching the Rams play the Packers. The Lakers are off and I am fairly certain the Rams are who you meant.

Yep, the Rams. It was the NBA-like score. I guess each team was playing with a seven man defense. Team defense is low priority in the pre-season which is why I usually just watch some of these games to check out the new players.
