The amazing R.Amaro has pulled off the deal of the century! He has claimed Jerome Williams off waivers from the Rangers. Williams will get his first start on Tuesday. O'sullivan was sent to the minors to make room. Williams is a starter-reliever with a current ERA of 6.71. He will make Kendrick look like an all star. Way to go Mr GM!

At least they moved lard ass down but replacing him with another stiff is just plain stupid. But we all know that Boobens is not capable of tramsactions that have any direct, long-term strategy in mind. This move boggles the mind jvett. What is it with Boobens and his attraction for older players who are as bad or worse than the krappy-ass younger players we have? O'Shit was garbage but to replace him with somebody who just as statistically bad and is OLDER is completely insane!!

You are right. I would rather bring up Nola now and throw him in the mix. He would probably do better and get some valuable experience.

That might make perfect sense in a rebuilding year northeast for everybody else in the league, but with Boobens obsession with older players, Nola is going to have to stay in the minors for five years to get to the OLDER category that Boobens gets a stiffy for before we will see him pitching for the Phillies.

I don't know what it is northeast but this pattern of Boobens is not only annoying but it is killing a perfectly good rebuild strategy and program and it is going to assure that the Phillies are in the basement every year for the foreseeable future. I agree. Amaro is more interested in buying than he is developing. He made a statement that Asche was not a future 3rd baseman for the Phillies during the off season. But since he did not have the money to buy one ,Asche got his chance. Amaro simply blocks the young guys out and interferes with our future.

Boobens is a fool to believe that Asche is not going to be a good and maybe even great 3rd baseman. His fielding has been outstanding in this New York series and his hitting is beginning to get better. Boobens whole approach to young guys who really are going to be good players is just nuts.
