The Delta Center is coming back.

I saw this yesterday, but I wasn’t sure if someone was trolling. Also, the pic that had been making the rounds looked a bit fake.

Aren't there people that also went to games with their dad; had season tickets; went to their first playoffs game; and had their first date at the Vivint Center too?

No. Interestingly enough, no dads or grandpas went to any of the regular season or playoff games. In fact, no grandmothers or moms ever went to the Energy Solutions or Vivent Arena games either. Just kids, uncles, aunts, neices, nephews, childless marriages, single folk, and cousins. Unofficially, the Jazz have considered bringing back the Delta Center in efforts to bring back families.

You might say, “aren’t aunts and nephews family?” Well, no, they’re not, and they didn’t come at the same time together anyway. Not even to the uncles come with the aunts. No husband and wives, just childless marriages one by one. So, yes, sons and daughters went, but not siblings because they weren’t at the same game at the same time. And they never talked about it to each other, shared any memories, or carpool.

If the Jazz hadn't won a lot at the Delta Center, the corporate name wouldn't be remembered as fondly.

If the Jazz had been on a 14 year playoffs drought of not winning a series, like what the Detroit Pistons have, people wouldn't remember it as fondly.

The same goes for Portland. I know a lot of fans still call it the "Rose Garden", and not the Moda Center. But the same principle applies. If Portland had lost a lot at the Rose Garden, then the name wouldn't be remembered as fondly.
