I grew up in Texas in a Czech family and Shiner was just about he only beer they drank. I prefer the plain ole Shiner Premium

I don't live in Texas so about the next best thing is Shiner Bock.

What can I say...its genetic.

I've enjoyed everything I've tried of theirs. We just got it here a couple years ago. I actually made a two hearted clone a few years ago.

I am partial to German beers myself (A studyboard trip during college and a return to Germany for Oktoberfest will do that to you).

My personal favorite beer is Lowenbrau and it is impossible to find in the US so my second favorite is Hofbrau. Please share what your favorite beer is.

Hoffbrau Hellesbier is near impossible to find outside Bavaria but I'd walk a fair distance for it.

I don’t know that I have a favorite but there’s a few I know I will always be happy to drink and can be easily found most anywhere.

I drink beer almost as a thirst quencher...I don't keep it at the house as a norm anymore...mostly a wine drinker (wife drinks wine, or mixed drinks) these days.

But...I've been building a liquor cabinet. Ideally I wanted a top shelf for people that would appreciate a quality drink...neat (I have a golf buddies/friends with good tastes in spirits) and another for mixing.

I've started with Tequila and Scotch from a research stand point and have kinda made a decision on the top shelf for each of these spirits. I'm not going to hijack to beer thread, and to keep it readable length, I'll keep this to one spirit.

Tequila

Blanco, you can spend a lot of money and get a better product, but it's still only aged a few days compared to the other Tequilas, all will have alcohol burn, and again, imo best for mixing. I buy a 87 rated (Tequila.net user rating)Blanco...Espolon…<$20...I've had 92+ rated Blancos and I would save my money.

Resposado...up to a yr aged. This is where you start with a sipping Tequila. $30 to $100+ IMO for a novice it's best with an ice cube. I've had 2 really good Resposados recently.

• Clase Azul ($100), (90 rating) very smooth from start to finish, a little fruity...some alcohol burn, but less than Casa Noble. I like it, it's a good sipper, pricey, fancy bottle has to be part of it.
  
• Casa Noble ($45), (93 rating) also very smooth, more vanilla, nutty flavor, a bit of alcohol burn at the end of the swallow, but it's not lasting like a Blanco...an ice cube mellows out the finish

Anejo...up to 3yrs aged...This is a true neat caliber Tequila...smooth to the finish very little alcohol burn...$50 & up

Extra Anejo...up to 5 yrs aged...this goes in the decanter in the office... you only offer this to people that know something about good Tequila...neat...always...>$70

So far I bought the Casa Noble brand Resposado and Anejo. To be honest...the ratings were part of it, but to bag both bottles for around the same price as a good tasting but lower rated Tequila just seemed like the best way to go. To put a cap on Tequila, this week I'm looking for the single barrel extra Anejo from Casa Noble.​

Sorry beer drinkers...I'll share the Scotch via DM...I'm not to Burbons yet, but would be interested to hear your thoughts.

I have been digging Troegs beers lately. Their Nimble Giant IPA and their Nugget Nectar seasonals are outstanding.

Nugget Nectar is in stores now...picked up a 6 pack...I should ge tmore and stash it for the season.
