ITs a slap in the face to McCoy. The risk is too large if RG3 actually plays this year. Hopefully they are trying to get some trade value for him like kbso said. I don't see KC losing his job unless he gets hurt.

It's bogus. Not gonna happen. No way they put him in a game as second string and risk injury.

I think he would have to get hurt. Hearing how exasperated Gruden sounded at the press conference when asked about Griffin's concussion confirms to me that he is done with Robert. Can't blame him. Gruden was Bruce's hire, not Scot's. He's feeling the heat. If he's going down, he should have the right to go out swinging with HIS guys.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the decision to keep Robert Griffin III on the active roster was not unanimous.

"Not everyone in their building is happy about it," Schefter wrote. The Redskins are pushing the organizational harmony narrative hard, but no one is buying it. Griffin will be a constant shadow hanging over whoever is starting games this season, and if he ends up suffering a serious injury, Washington will be on the hook for his $16.155 million fifth-year option. Keeping him on the roster was not the right decision.

This has Synder written all over it. There is no way we get a trade partner for him unless he drops the 2016 16.5 million. AM I right guys?

Call me emotional, or a prisoner of the 2012 season, but I am just not ready to give up on Robert.

kbso, how can you put him in the game with his guaranteed injury contact for 2016? Do you really want to pay him 16.5 mil next year?

SM should be blamed here for giving RG3 that stupid extension. If it wasn't for that extension I believe we could of traded him for a decent draft pick.

I hear ya. I think the 16.5 is a risk for those who are absolutely done with RG3 and feel he will never do anything here. For those that still think he is an asset or want him here to run a different offense next year if Jay gets run don't feel it's a risk. It really just depends where you stand on Robert. I think it's safe to say at this point Dan still likes Robert.

Like I said before though, this could be Scot trying to drum up trade value. I won't believe they are really committed to RG3 as the #2 until I see him in uniform on game day with Colt inactive. Then I will know they are really committed to keeping RG, because like you said, they wouldn't risk injury.

Gruden is not going to change his offense for RG3. So there is no point for him to be here. I was watching NFL network yesterday and one of the commentators had a good idea. Trade RG3 for Manuel straight up.

I forgot to include that it was reported that McCoy will be #2 for the Dolphins game.

A lot of unknowns still out there. I do believe RG will be here in some form or fashion in 2015.

And rightfully so!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Many here wanted to get rid/(trade) KC a yr ago which made ask why trade KC. As of right now I like all of our QB but that's with a big question though. Which one will be the future QB I am undecided because of the OL. Who knows none of the 3 may not be the future QB because there is a lot of uncertainty right now. If KC gets hurt or if KC reverts back to his awful play of last yr, who will be the starter McCoy!!!!!! McCoy is ok but he hurts Jackson on the deep ball which restricts the passing game to a certain degree. He has a weak arm. Things are just very unsettle right now, lets just wait and see how this situation plays out. We are still in the infancy stage of rebuilding.

I keep coming back to this statement from SM

'You don't give up on young QBs'

No matter the media circus, I think this remains a SM football decision. Might be for trade purposes - gotta pay him on the roster or not at this point - who knows.

first off what he said early on should be thrown out the window . everyone expected 3 to improve and he hasnt . so why should the GM be tied to that . same with players with bad reputations he changed on that too

as for why we havent cut 3 one reason could be is he hasnt been officially cleared yet . so we couldnt cut him .
3rd reason is they could be drumming up trade value for him

4th they could think keeping him on the bench and learning the offense and how to work in the pocket could be of some use to the team

First and foremost he hasn't improved to the satisfaction of some here, but based on reports coming out of camp there was improvement. In games there was truly no way to quantify that because of poor team play.

Of the choices that you listed, I'm inclined to go with #4........I refuse to believe that Gruden who insists that he has final say over who starts and plays would list Griffin as his #2 if he believed Colt to be better.
