Just post it when I have a date OK? You will probably know before I do. Between you, dash, puck and jstew, I think you all belong to the CIA or something.

Please don't use Eklund !!!!

Hahahha, sure thing Boss.

To look into this a bit more fromt he Pens perspective, I think they'll resign Rupper, but basically cut ties with everyone else.

I must be the only Pens fan who wants and wishes for Talbot to stay on. Not from a business perspective, just from a fan perspective.

I'd miss Max, but unless he's willing to take a significantly lower salary than what I'm SURE the market will offer, it won't work. A guy like Burke would absolutely kill for a player like Talbot, and I'm sure he'll get a crazy offer like $3mil. The Pens can basically take him back at 1mil or less...

Well, at this point, these forwards are signed:
Kunitz-Crosby-Neal
Staal-Geno-Cooke
Johnson-Letestu-Tangradi
XX-Adams-XX

Still have, and I really think it's a HAVE to, resign DJ Jazzy Jeff, Rupp, and MAYBE Dupuis or Asham. Get two of those, grab at least 1 F.A., see what money is left over.

Pens have about 55.5mil in those F, 7 Dmen, and 2 G. So, if the cap goes up to 62.5 we have 7 mil to work with. I realllllly think they should trade a guy from the D, like Nisky, who just makes too much money frankly.

If Despres is NHL ready, (which i believe he will be at some point of the season) you can add approx 1m more to the cap number. So it would be wise to move Niskanen to a team who can take on his salary for a late round pick.

If a team needs a d-man and needs help to get to the cap floor he could be dealt.

He would look good in Winnipeg...

I really do think that Shero will take a look at Drury...he's gonna come cheap.

Just makes me feel good seeing Winnipeg being mentioned in player transactions again. I really hope they decide to retire Selanne's jersey.

Obviously a good signing by the Pens... about a 20% raise... along those smae lines, a 20% raise for Rupp would put him at 990k... a little pricey if you ask me... perhaps a 3 yr deal for Rupp to lower the cap hit? Shero hates 3 yr deals though. Talbot, for him, needs to test the market, this probably will be the biggest contract he signs, so he should follow the money. The Pens will make a real push towards Dupuis, but he also could see a nice raise on the market, and may think about family/money more right now... but in the long run, I see him returning at close to 2 mil per yr. Asham will be an after though, if he is still unemployed heading into training camp, perhaps a one yr deal at league min. Also, being in the Atlantic division, I would not be surprised to see Godard resigned at one yr for league min as well. I expect all of the RFAs to be resigned. On the backend, if this season taught us anything, it's teh importance of being deep on Defensemen. The 7 signed will be on opening day roster... Depres will mature in the AHL and be one of the first call-ups. Now, FAs... Drury is interesting, I could see how Pittsburgh would be appealing to him, and get him kind of cheap. Playing along, I see the lines like this:

Neal - Crosby - Malkin
Kunitz - Staal -TK
Cooke - Drury - Dupuis
Rupp - Letestu - Adams

If no Drury, slide Letestu up to #3 center, and insert Jeffery into the #4 center (or Adams and then Tangradi to the wing on the 4th line)

Amen Dash, he deserves it. I wonder if Teemu would consider going back to close out his career since he is a UFA this summer?

It'd be even cooler if he came back for one more year as a Jet!!

LOL. didn't see yours before mine.

I don't think he would ever sign with the Peg at this point but it would be awesome.
