I’m picking ND as well, in a lower scoring game, I think ND has the better D and can force turnovers better. Both teams have very strong rushing attacks, I think Riley Leonard’s ability to run helps ND a lot, he’s much more mobile than Penn St‘s QB Allar. The Nittany Lions do have a great TE in Tyler Warren who’s better than any pass catcher ND has. But I’ll take the Irish in a close, lower scoring game. Looking forward to it!

Notre Dame has really silenced the critical with the way they have dominated games versus elite competition in these playoffs. So happy to see an actual playoff scenario in college football. Long over due. Next season just go with 16 to avoid nonsense like Oregon vs Ohio State again.

I'm going with Penn State. They play within their system well. No flash, no Heisman's, team concept.
Now that doesn't mean I think ND can't hang, of course they can just like Penn State 24-20,

There seems to be a lot of justifiable criticism of Franklin's inability to win the "big one." He is something like 1-9 against top ranked teams.

I'm not a fan or hater of Penn State/Franklin but I do think that PSU just doesn't enroll the elite players like the traditional top powers. PSU ends up with a top 15 recruiting class year in and year out, but rarely breaks the top 10.

Nonetheless, if Franklin were an elite coach, you'd expect him to win a top matchup periodically. So if he was 4-6 in those games, I'd say he was an elite coach.

That said, I'm going with ND.

I think this is going to be an incredible game that could go either way. Regardless I’ll definitely be rooting for the winner of it to take home the hardware in the championship.

I’ll go:

Penn State 21
Notre Dame 20

It's weird for me, but the later these college games are played into January, the more I forget about them. I wish they would just get these games out of the way in December and play the national title game around the first week of the year (the last week of the NFL season).

I think a lot of people are in playoff mode with the NFL.

No reason to not have a 16 team playoffs. It lasts exactly as long as the NCAA tourney so that's that.
Yeah, and if your team doesn’t make it into a 16 team format, there’s probably not really an argument with any merit to complain about missing out.

Yep...would also last as long as the 12 teamer.....just no byes.

Just add a couple more bowl games to the mix.

As to the game? I also think somewhat low scoring and close so ND, 24-20.
