If the Patriots buy into Vrabel's theme and plan in the preseason, then they could start out 4-1 with the first loss coming on 10/5 at Buffalo on their first Prime Time game on Sunday night. If the Bills aren't all that they are advertised, the Patriots could be the surprise team of 2025 at 5-0.

After that Game 5, they have have what appears to be a really soft four games against teams equally as bad as them in 2024. Saints, Titans, Brown and Falcons. The Browns could be the most trouble, depending on how well the quarterback plays.

The Jets and Giants don't seem to be a problem but the Bucs, Bills, Ravens and Bengals could be door stops to making the playoffs.

This schedule looks like it's set up for a 12-5 or 11-6 regular season. I think 11-6 at worst case is a Wild Card game.

12-5, dropping two to the Bills. Wild Card round unless the Bills tougher schedule they finish lower overall, or have the tie breaker.
Steelers could make it 11-6.

History has not been kind to the Patriots playing Dolphins in Miami in September.
I'd be happy with 10 wins. Could be better if we have a couple of surprise wins.
If we are 4-1, we are more ready than I expect.....

Needless to say, there are those that think the schedule is a big soft pillow. There are those that think that pillow is full of venomous snakes.

The anti-side sees the start a perilous 1-4 and the end at 6-11 giving the Patriots a 2026 Draft position of somewhere between 6 and 11.

The over excited side sees a 12-5 season and an AFCCG in late January, possibly a Super Bowl in February 2026.

So........................take the 6 and 12, add them and divide by 2 and the season will be 9-8 with a possible Wild Card game against whoever is #2. Remember, #1 gets a bye.

Like I said previously. If this team buys into the Vrabel Program, the offense of Josh McDaniels isn't over complicated and the defense is as good as it appears here in May, This team can easily be 11-6. If these guys can't grasp the program or the system, they're doomed to repeat 2023 and 2024.

Sure, count on the weather to save your sorry ass team. I get it, you need something if you don't have a team worth rooting for.

The only real question is if Drake Maye and the Patriots will get back to the Super Bowl before Joe Milton III and the Cowboys do.
