i dont like it either but if we got any pick for a FA we mined then that is good . it could work out even better is chase makes it to the PS

now that is the best spin i can put on it, but you are right , it stinks , but if this gamble works then it could be very good for us

The only problem I have with it is what message it sends to the team. Minnifield deserved a roster spot and earned his way on the team. He was one of the best 53 and the whole teams knows that.

well he isnt signed to the PS yet so perhaps some one will grab him

Shanahan tells all his players that he is keeping the best 53 at the end of camp regardless of position. Last year he kept 8 WRs. This roster is a starting point. There will be injuries, Jackson and Jarvis will come back. Changes in the roster will have to be made.

I am not a fan of White. I think there are a lot of things he can't do well but all that being said he had a good camp. Shanahan gets a lot of crap in the media about lying etc., but his players believe that he is honest with him and those are the guys that count.

well he is on our PS and with another year of real seasoning (or perhaps a call up ) he should be looking good heading into 2014

i think we will do with him what we did with compton . if someone tries to claim him we will bring him up

I don't see White taking Chase's spot so much as Jerome Murphy, considering that he appears to be the 5th CB. I didn't catch the whole preseason from Georgia, but did Murphy really beat out Minnifield?

One benefit of keeping White will be so that the Cowboys, Giants, and Eagles can't sign him to grill him about out play book or to 'train' for RG3.

Also, as a side inquiry, did Pugh & Gumbs really beat out Gomes? I do recall seeing a few plays by them and not by Gomes.

There is a good breakdown of the "whys" on defense picks and cuts by John Keim on espn and a link to that article on another thread here. I consider his analysis some of the best reporting on the Skins.

I just listened to Keim and this is his take. Murphy plays ST, Minnifield doesn't. Chase was told if he was kept on the 53 man roster he would be inactive for every game because of that situation. Instead they kept Murphy and have another year to work with Minnifield to try and improve what they feel are his weaknesses.

Two players will have to be let go when Jenkins and Jackson come back. White is likely to be one of those two players but if a team develops a QB need and wants to acquire either Grossman or White then the Skins might get a draft pick in return. It's worth a shot for a couple of weeks.

Meanwhile who better to play the role of Vick in practice other than White. Both left handed QBs who can run.

yes gumbs did beat him out . apparently he is better in coverage and he hits like a train

as for chase ST is a place to earn a job and murphy did
