Valid points, but I really feel like most of Buffalo has to have seen this coming. Maybe it's because I'm used to interacting with down to earth/knowledgeable Buffalo fans on here, but it seems like most supported this move, and have for awhile now. But, like every other team, the majority aren't as knowledgeable as most of us on here are.

Man that sounds arrogant, but really, every time I try to have a hooplian conversation in real life, it ends after one "Oh...yeah *glazed eyes*."

Believe me, the Sabre fans here do not make up the majority of Sabre fans in real life, at least in my experience.

Same goes for Pens fans. We have a good group at the hoop.

Well this I know, hah. I'm constantly disappointed with the chatter I hear at games/around town. I have high expectations/standards I guess. Which is also why I don't talk to many guys about sports in real life. At the risk of sounding extraordinarily arrogant: I know a lot about sports. Watching them is pretty much my job, and then I come home...to watch them more. The amount of times I've been at the bar, heard some "bro" rambling, laughed and had to bite my tongue. Yep. I'm a sports snob.

Reports out of Buffalo now are actually that LaFontaine resigned a couple days BEFORE the Miller trade and the team kept it a bit hushed up for a few days.

Sabres’ situation is as clear as mud - Sports - The Buffalo News

Black says there’s no discord in the Buffalo front office. In LaFontaine’s eyes, there clearly was although it wasn’t about the Miller trade, which new general manager Tim Murray consummated a few days after LaFontaine was already gone.
