Why would anybody want to start Howell behind that miserable offensive line?

Doesnt make a lick of sense.

Clearly the commanders arent going anywhere this year, so putting Howell behind this line is not putting him in the best position to succeed, whatsoever.

Play TH who at least can escape behind a crap oline, and make some plays with his feet.

When the OLine is fixed - through draft picks and free agents - THEN play Howell.
You need to see if Howell is the answer now you can't go into next season just assuming he is because you upgraded the oline

How do you think you can tell if Howell is the answer behind a sieve like offensive line?

I think you play Howell and see what this kid has. If Wentz is out 6 weeks, then Howell should get a shot. If he does well then Howell is the guy for next year. If he fails, then we are picking top 5 or 10 and probably drafting a QB. TH and Wentz will be gone in 2023 and Howell and the 1st round QB will be the Qb's.

RR has made it clear in the offseason "anybody but TH" So I dont know how he plays TH right now. b/c of the draft pick situation with Wentz and the team being 2-4 with the Eagles being undefeated and Dallas playing well without Dak, there is a small percentage that this team sees the post season. So, you play the rookie. There is no upside in playing TH, unless he totally balls out and he is signed next year as our QB but that is a tough ask from RR who did anything not to give the ball in TH hands this year.

Go with Howell now. Yes Oline play is poor however, neither Wentz or TH or RR will be here next season so why play TH? Let's see how Howell slings it when real bullets are flying around him to gain a better understanding of his moxy. Also, it was noted how tough Howell was during the draft evaluation process so hopefully he can take some hits because its going to happen. What I saw in preseason from Howell was he has some mobility (more than Wentz) he has good vision and gets through his immediate progressions, he has a strong arm and with a little better run game, he has the ability to keep the offense on the field more than just repeated 3 & outs. I will also say his accuracy is better than Wentz.

If Wentz is out play Howell. We know what TH is and Howell can drive the ball down field.

RR can’t afford to experiment , he loses the team without at least trying Falco . We as fans know we aren’t contenders for the playoffs but you can’t ask vets to tank a season

I wanted to say Wildgoose had a good game, but I wasn't sure. Without looking at the film any time a corner is not on the TV I assume he had a good game. Lol

Agreed. We have a substandard OLine, but at least veteran QBs have the experience to navigate some of that. Again...some of it.

A rookie would be shellshocked behind a substandard line and you would learn nothing. Throw in an incompetent OC like Turner and I cannot see anything good come from this. Rookie QBs have to know the playbook, have the knowledge of calling audibles and recognizing coverage schemes, and they need to know how to adjust pass protection. It is a very difficult job obviously in and of itself. Throw that behind a crappy OLine and OC who is a dead man walking in Turner....I am not sure how it makes sense.

We don't need another David Carr on the sideline. You go with TH for the rest of the season.

Not sure you can get a credible sample size with Howell under these circumstances.

The team isn't going anywhere anyways. I agree TH does nothing for the team, but with the season already 1/3 in the books, what does it matter?

To see if Howell is the answer or could be it would change things on drafting a QB

I hear you but I am not sure a rookie QB would show you what is needed or thrive in the atmosphere that Rivera has created.

Hopefully, another regime is making that decision as Rivera has had 3 years to make decisions and is still clueless on how to build a proper roster.
