Ok, NIL is out of control when Wazzu proudly welcomes the new QB with a picture of him and his brand new truck.

I did a WTF when I saw that announcement as well. Was trying to determine if the truck was basically being loaned to him for his use while at WSU or they just gifted it to him which is just ridiculous considering the prices of new autos at this time.

Appears Oregon, Miami, and a couple other programs are already being investigated by the NCAA for violations of the NIL rules. Big shocker there. Heard Tex A&M boosters are funneling insane payouts to recruits to get commits and NIL is already turned into the player buying shitshow many predicted.

About the only rule that there seems to be that could be violated would be the money coming directly from the schools. Can't imagine any school being that dumb since the boosters can now pay them legally.

It seems like the problem with it may be that they are trying to treat these athletes like regular students when it comes to NIL.

If a regular student wrote some computer program and Microsoft wants to pay them a bunch of money for it, that student is free to negotiate whatever compensation they can get. It seems like they are trying to treat NIL the same way. On the surface, that seems fair.

The problem is that, like the old bags of money/buy them a car stuff that has gone on for decades, the NIL money is tied to the athlete attending a certain school...which is how you end up with "bidding wars".

It seems clear that they are going to have to tweak it in some way. Maybe make scholarships more like binding contracts where, if a kid accepts NIL money to play at a school, they have to stay for 3 years? Obviously it wouldn't be quite that simple...but something along that line.

NIL has its obvious problems but NIL plus transfer portal defeats the spirit of the sport. IMO the NCAA needs to decide whether NIL or the transfer portal is the way of the future, it shouldn’t be both.

With McGrew leaving as a grad, the Huskies were going to be looking for a APB, if the plan was to utilize them in the new offense, and appears so. Good get for the Dawgs.

It's getting pretty bad when fans of a Pac-12 team get all excited over the addition of a running back from a second-tier MWC team. Then again, didn't the Mountain West have a winning record against the Pac last season?

They definitely weren’t a mid tier MWC school last year.

Huskies get great news that ZTF will be back for 2022 with the new coach staff.

This changes everything! Looks like Caleb Williams might go to Wisconsin after seeing this.

Huskies land a commit from the Parker twins who visited this weekend. Played high school in Michigan. Both projected for the DL. Both of them already sized at 6'4" and 270. They've flown under the radar, but appears the new Defenisive staff believe they can be developed into ballers.
