You must be kidding, right? He was a good fit for a place like SC but as the OC at UCLA he sucked big time, cost CRN his job in the big picture if you ask me...
You could go back to your original post where you called Norm Chow 'money' and wondered why no one has hired him as their OC.A good cook still needs ingredients. Norm Chow isnt the reason Rick isn't a coach right now.
So he's not a good OC because be had good players he helped recruit and draw up game plans for and call the right plays to put them in position to succeed? Yeah ok. I once heard a story about him running some certain plays against one of the Stoops brothers just to see how his defense would react knowing he could face the other Stoops later on and that they ran the same defense. He did meet up with Oklahoma in the NCG that season and he knew what to call. You could go back to your original post where you called Norm Chow 'money' and wondered why no one has hired him as their OC.
He wasn't money at another PAC school where P5 talent can be had & as an OC he failed there big time.
He doesn't need ingredients, he needs exceptional ingredients. That's why I said he was a good fit at SC, probably does well at a Bama or Ohio St too.
A lot of flaws can be covered up by exceptional talent with depth for an OC like Chow, especially when good defense is played on the other side of the ball.
You asked about Norm Chow, not whether he was a good fit at SC or not. I said he was, so I fail to see your point about bringing up SC as an example of his success as an OC.So he's not a good OC because be had good players he helped recruit and draw up game plans for and call the right plays to put them in position to succeed? How many Rose Bowls has UCLA won since 2000? I guess thats Norms fault huh.

Also, the number of RB's since whenever has nothing much to do with it other than Chow did have opportunities to make RB's at UCLA as a PAC OC so since he wasn't part of the solution means he was part of the problem. So I'm sure it wasn't solely his fault but he did play a role.
If you just want to slam UCLA, have fun, but to your first point, he had a real opportunity at P5 school and failed. Just like his success at SC is part of his resume, his failure at UCLA is too.
Either you forgot or never knew, but Chow came to UCLA and tried to implement the Pistol Offense against CRN's better judgement, they ended up something like 116th in passing in CFB, can't get too much lower than that...It's not about slamming UCLA. My point about the Rose Bowls is no one has been doing much there for quite a while. A few promising seasons then dumpster fires so he wasn't the problem there. He's shown he could be a top coordinator with a stable program. At UCLA he had little to work with.
Tough game tonight, just got back to the hotel. If UW wins, I promise there will be no man ass involved. If Stanford wins, hopefully he'll take it upon himself to update that thing first thing Saturday.

God I hate it when people pronounce it that way.perhaps "world domination" should start in the state of warshington first…
the apple cup is now in play as are the Cardinals down on the farm.
Seriously. I was going to list the illustrious QBs that Slick Rick had when Chow got there but Bruin fan should know them and I couldn't stop laughing.lolWelp, thanks for fucking up USC's plan to be the first 2 loss team to make the playoff, Huskies.![]()
You really want to assume UW beats WSU to make that bold claim? So stanford winning the north
