Back to say again this NIL bullshit sucks. We aren’t Texas A&M bad at blowing money but we are the worst in the conference with spending money on useless players.
How does that make NIL bad?

Yeah, Georgia > Utah, but not as much as 46 > 1.
Well that's not what's happening here, it's an honest take for the crosstown rivals, so go enjoy your slurping fantasies elsewhere.I enjoy seeing UCLA fans reduced to slurping off USC
So, this week we have ...
With that, it's surprising to see this thread so dead considering all the Dawg posters on the Hoop.
Crap always happens down in the desert there. Could easily turn into a no defense shootout.Out of all the games listed, I do think it's my Bruins this week that should be on upset alert!
The Sun Devils just took down the Huskies three weeks ago in Tempe, and are a field goal away from a three game win streak.
IMHO, here is what is wrong with the PAC (and the rest of college football): the PAC has 5 teams in the top 25 but who have they played OOC?So, this week we have ...
No. 8 Oregon, 7-1 @ Colorado, 1-7
No. 9 USC, 7-1 vs California,3-5
No. 10 UCLA, 7-1 @ Arizona State, 3-5
No. 14 Utah, 6-2 vs Arizona, 3-5
No. 24 Oregon State, 6-2 @ Washington, 6-2
Pretty obvious where the PAC12 game of the week will be played.

The PAC12 Champ could still end up being a 2 loss Conference team, no?
Anyone see an upset outside of the game in bold?
In my own ratings, here's how the Pac-12 stacks up:So, this week we have ...

8. USC 7-1
9. Washington 6-2
10. Utah 6-2
13. Oregon 7-1
15. UCLA 7-1
(Oregon St. is unranked)
I know you put a lot of weight in ranked OOC opponents, however you can only play who is in front of you. And this year for UCLA is really the exception, I can't remember the last time the Bruins OOC did not have a marquee game in the slate.IMHO, here is what is wrong with the PAC (and the rest of college football): the PAC has 5 teams in the top 25 but who have they played OOC?
2 P5 opponents (#2 UGa and #41 UF) and lost both. These 5 PAC teams have also played and beaten 8 G5 teams all below #50. They aren't alone.
If you take the top 30 teams in the Massey Composited Poll and omit Notre Dame (they skew the data badly which I will show later) that leave the "Top 29". These 29 teams play 96 OOC opponents but only 8 are opponent in the "Top 29".
That's really only 4 games: UGa vs Ore, Bama vs Texas, KSU vs Tulane, and LSU vs FSU. There just aren't enough meaningful OOC games anymore.
As for ND, they play 12 OOC games with 5 of those vs "Top 29". That means that ND plays more "Top 30" opponents than the other 29 teams do!
Including ND in the Top 30 means that they play 113 OOC opponents with 18 being against other "Top 30" teams.
Of course IF ND loses to Clemson (this week) and USC (the last week of the season) they will end up 7-5. ND is only ranked #24 and I doubt with 2 more losses that ND will still be in the top 30.
Rutgers 5-4
Alabama St 5-3
South Alabama 5-2
Colorado 1-7
Washington 6-2
Utah 6-2
Oregon 7-1
Stanford 3-5
Remember these are OOC games - YOU get to schedule them!!!!I know you put a lot of weight in ranked OOC opponents, however you can only play who is in front of you. And this year for UCLA is really the exception, I can't remember the last time the Bruins OOC did not have a marquee game in the slate.
With that however I'll put the Bruins current OOC opponents record, and even the Bruins Overall opponents record up against any current Ranked team out there.
OOC 15-9
OVR 23-19
First, as for why "We rarely see top of conference teams who travel any distance for their OOC games besides the PAC." Two thirds of the US population is East of the Mississippi. What is the nearest OOC P5 team to LA? My Guess is Texas Tech which 1120 miles away. Compare that to Gainesville (UF) which is the SEC school that is farthest south and east (i.e. the farthest away from everybody else). Only the University of Miami is farther away. The distance between Gainesville and New York City is only 1009 miles! The distance between Gainesville and the University of Michigan is 1041 miles. The distance between Gainesville and the Northwestern University is 1062 miles. The distance between Gainesville and the University of Iowa is 1143 miles. The distance between Gainesville and the University of Oklahoma is 1165 miles. The distance between the Gainesville and Austin Texas is 1013 miles! Just within 550 miles of Gainesville are Florida State, Miami, Georgia Tech, Clemson, NC, NC St., Wake Forest, and Duke. Two things that I put a lot of weight on besides OOC opponents are Away games and travel distance. The PAC travels more than any other conference and it impacts the challenge to run the table. We rarely see top of conference teams who travel any distance for their OOC games besides the PAC.
Look no further than the 4 games you listed.
Oregon vs UGA 2,611 mi.
Alabama @ Texas 770 mi
Tulane @ KSU 914 mi.
FSU vs LSU 385 mi.
Umm, I believe that FSU beat LSU. That means that the only away teams to lose were the two PAC teams. Look I wasn't try to pick on the PAC. I said the problem is that there are too few quality OOC games in FBS. Part of the problem is that the PAC and B1G went to 9 in-conference games. As a result they have eased their OOC schedules. Everyone needs to play 8 in-conference, 2 P5 OOC (at least 1 of which is QUALITY), 1 G5 QUALITY OOC, and one of their choosing (another P5, another G5, ND, FCS, HBCU, whatever).Look no further than the 4 games you listed.

And I'll add
Utah vs FL 2204 mi.
Of those 5 games, only Alabama and Tulane won.
I don't think you were here when things went bad a couple of years back. Between banning and VERY heavy over moderating they chased most of the former main college football posters off this site. There just isn't a focus on college sports at the top here anymore. Pro sports yeah and of course the large group of political junkies. College? Kind of dead here now and they just don't care. With that, it's surprising to see this thread so dead considering all the Dawg posters on the Hoop.

Then you had that idiot Fred basically take over the Pac thread and all Pac related threads to the point where it wasn't even worth reading anymore, more or less trying to have a conversation here. I probably don't even look at this board more than once a month or so. If I'm over here it is for the NFL or the Mariners board and that's about it.
Hell, I've been asking the admins of this site for a year and a half to get the icon for the Kraken and still there isn't one. There is nearly no development on this site anymore.
A. I disagree with it. B. It blows for fans like us and Texas A&M. Cool for the kids but blows when alumni blow money on kids that haven’t earned it. Which is the one positive with Wazzu’s entering our toe in the field is the alumni “go fund me” is focusing on guys who have earned, but that also doesn’t do shit for recruiting. How does that make NIL bad?
