Wouldn't be nice to have him back with Burnett , Pittman Vaughns and Mitchell all getting reps this season.

Definitely. Over the last couple of weeks, he and the receivers seem like they are finally on the same page. It would be nice to see them go through an entire season all on the same page.

Yes, as long as he doesn't retain an agent, he can declare, then change his mind and come back.

For his long term success in the NFL, the smart move would be to return to USC. While he is very good and can make all of the throws the NFL needs him to make...he needs to learn how to throw from the pocket better and he needs to work on his decision making. While a lot of his issues with the ints. was due to having an all new receiving corps, poor decision making and trying to force things were also part of the issue.

Having said that, staying will likely cost him some money because when NFL teams want a guy to come out early and he doesn't, they start picking everything apart and the guy usually drops, no matter how well he performs on the field.

I get what you're saying... SC QBs in NFL don't exactly have a stellar presence there. Outside of Palmer and maybe the first two seasons for Sanchez, SC QBs just generally fall apart in the pros.

BUT damn, getting picked by Cleveland. He deserves better than that!

There is ONLY ONE QB (from anywhere) that I have NOT felt sorry for being picked by Cleveland over the years... And that is "Johnny Football"!! Seeing him 'flame out' was classic.

I think USC QBs in the NFL have the same issue as a lot of Alabama players in the NFL. The USC QB usually is fully developed product by the time he gets to USC. He's been the top player in HS and and done all the camps and is highly rated because he's big and has an arm. But he's probably peaked or at least about 90% of how good he will be. But out there there are Qbs who wernt fully developed in HS were three stars and grow a lot as far as physically and development wise in college. Just like Alabama getting the fully grown men out of HS . They dominated in HS and will dominate in college but by the time they get to the NFL they are playing against a lot of guys who were scrawny in HS but blossomed in college and are now bigger and faster than those bama kids.
That's what i think anyway.lol

I'm sure USC will blow it in the CCG, but they now have the best shot at a playoff birth.

You know what USC finally gets? A week off. That means a few more players back (Porter Gustin is one hopefully)
A fully rested USC should dominate anyone they play in the CCG. No way theres enough chaos for USC to sniff the playoffs this season.

Who knows? But I'd venture to say that OhioSt would ALSO be 'in the same boat' as SC if they get to their CCG...

WHICH of their teams will 'show up'... The GOOD or the BAD one??? :noidea:

I want to know, where the hell is Stephen Carr, is he hurt?

I just found this:

From Helton in media call "Stephen is close to being 100% and I expect to see him more and more in the coming weeks. We tried to get him in on the passing game, free him up a little, but RoJo kind of took off, I expect to get more reps for Stephen in the future."

He was out the three or so games prior to the Colorado game. He played some against Colorado. Hope he's 100% for the CCG.

Did you watch a fairly crappy Stanford QB in his third game carve up that secondary? I mean they had people wide fucking open the entire game. Wide. Open. The injuries in that secondary have finally caught up to them.

I wasn't paying that close attention to your guys game, but I'm sure the injuries have caught up to you guys. I'm just not exactly optimistic with Falk playing check down Charlie instead of hitting wide open receivers. It might end up being a low scoring Apple Cup then. Our defense has been getting good pressure, they are just massively undersized and cant be on the field as much as they have been when Falk is playing like Charlie Whitehurst.

Well our OC has to pull his head out of his ass and remember he has not one, not two, but three legit rushing threats and FUCKING USE THEM or they won't do shit. For real, they marched up the field twice in the first half and gashed them on the ground. After that? They stopped running.... Again... :L

I expect pressure on Falk, but also open receivers with some of those exotic sets the cougs run. It will be an interesting cat and mouse game on that side of the ball.

Please punt to Pettis. Please?

Welcome to the world of a Coug fan when you have rushing threats and you refuse to use them.

And highly doubtful we punt to Pettis, our scholarship punter I think has a long of 15 this year and Sweet does that goofy looking rugby style punt so every gunner is down there by the time he'd catch it. Special teams has been a massive surprise for us.

Just need one small error in the punting game. Nothing major. That really asking too much? :noidea: I mean we aren't going to the CCG so at least toss us a bone.

How about we trade giving up a few punt returns to Pettis if you guys don't cover Martin Jr for lets say 4 drives? That's a deal we can make, you guys aren't going to win the division so help little brother out. Let us win 31-28 or something where you guys can hold your heads high and gamblers don't cry foul.

I didn't ask to let us win the game. We don't need a pity win. Well not yet anyway. Just asked for Pettis to go out with a bang and an even 10 TD's on returns for his career.

I'm just glad that the AC is at home and not down in the wheat field. On the road, I'd give us no chance.

They get a bye week before it though. I mean seriously the league office tired really hard to fuck just about every decent team in the conference this year. USC with that early road game to Pullman on a Friday night and no bye week until just before the CCG, Stanford and their brutal road game to Utah after the Utes were on a bye and their bye? went to OSU for a thur night game on the tail of their bye week. UW ends up playing 3 teams that had a bye the week before playing them and of course their fucky friday night road game. Cougs got lucky and faced two of their most important games at home and then get a free extra week before the last one.

USC may yet have the last laugh despite their fucked up schedule with that free extra week of prep for the CCG and the momentum they now have after that shaky start.

Well we all saw how well the Pac12 is ran with the Larry Scott administration. I mean who doesn't like watching truck racing on a Friday night when two of the top 4 teams in the conference are playing.

And playing a game in the wheat field is a whole lot safer than playing at a football field surrounded by homeless people and heroin needles all over the place.
