I mean vegas lines don't move because players really really REALLY say they want a win.

When you get sudden line movements in football it's almost always due to personnel changes or perceived changes. Sometimes maybe off the field issues or other distractions.

The opening line can smooth out. This one went to 21 and stayed there until word of Herbert practicing and both QB's being listed as starters for the game roster came out. It's 1000000000% that.

And it's a valid reason for that line to move. Probably should go down maybe a little more. 13-15 feels about right IF Herbert were to play the whole game.

yeah i know it based on where the money is going but what im saying is reports from vegas line setters are saying it has nothing to do with rumors of Herbert but to do with how much Oregon wants it. and im saying that reasoning is stupid. but thats what they are saying.

It won't, dude is a freak of nature. Arizona never got the message that the Pacific whatever numbered conference isn't suppose to have a team be good at football and basketball at the same time. Hence our flagship schools, UCLA and Arizona are only good at basketball and USC and UW are only good at football. Sorry Stanford and Oregon, non revenue sports = relevant as women sports.

That explains linear movement, but this line was a sudden drop in a matter of a few hours from 21 to 17 before coming back up slightly to 17.5-18. And it timed perfectly with those reports on Herbert.

Have you seen your young QB?

Herbert is a massive upgrade. Burmeister isn't much of a threat through the air. I'd put a 14 point swing on that change at least. Herbert would get more first downs and keep drives going longer taking at least 7 more away from UW because of it, and of course they would have to score 7 more even with UW's vaunted defense.
