A Dodgers fan, huh?
Never thought I would see the day when the Dodgers and Astros would meet in the WS. Old division foes. I've gone to only a couple of their games in the 'Dome. The first one, Steve Garvey and Ron Cey were on the team.
Anyway, I have a question. How many MLB teams have played in the WS as a NL team and as an AL team? Don't waste any time finding an answer, just put it out there as a curiosity. Anyway

Go 'stros!

maybe in this series, they will win a game!

Well they won one already. lol. Crazy ass game last night. As for your question I doubt any other team has because only the Brewers and Astros have changed leagues I think.
I went to High school right below Dodger stadium .A private school where our baseball field was on the other side of the Stadium between the police academy and the stadium. We would have to go across the Dodger Stadium parking lot to get to practice.

Right now, the other one I can think of would be the Boston Braves. Will have to look to see which league they played and if they made the WS. As the Milwaukee Braves, I don't remember. Of course Atlanta made it. At least this is what I think I remember Of course the Boston Braves were way the hell before my time.

So, as some of you may know from precious rants, TheDayMan cut the cable cord last spring time. After trying sling, settling on hulu, and continuing to snoop around at other options, you know what's consistent? Every service, ALL OF THEM, have the big 10 network and sec network included. Only sling has the Pac 12 network as part of a $10 add on sports package. What the fuck is the matter with this Pac network bullshit? At what point did they think holding out, or letting providers hold out on their shitty deal was a good idea? How does that even happen?

Because Larry Scott is a pussy essentially. Not bringing in anywhere near the revenue he promised schools and has allowed networks to schedule the conference like we play in the MWC or MAC or whatever second tier conference. NBC has more of say about our scheduling than our AD's do.

Stanford looked totally inept last night, but that was a massive win.

I never trust a road team in the PAC after dark.

If I'm a coach in the Pac 12, I do not want to face Arizona right now.
A good reason to select the Washington State @ Arizona as the game of the week.

Also the loser is pretty much on the outside looking in, especially now that Stanford is 5-1 in the North!

Best case scenario for UW at this point would be ASU to win out and for UW to beat the ever loving shit out of them in the CCG
Still think it's USC winning out as the best case CCG opponent for UW. Also, if we're talking best case scenarios for the Playoffs, the Dubbs probably need both Standford & WSU to win out except for their H2H game (Where is that one?), and vs UW of course.

Good luck with all that, I'm sure UCLA would love to spoil all the fun come Saturday!

On that note, I'd love to take an AVI bet but I'm especially superstitious when it comes to Baseball, so that ain't happening in the middle of the WS this weekend after the near 30 year drought!

If any of you Husky fans would like some vCash, I'll put up to $500 vCash total 1:1 SU, any takers?

Congrats to both teams last night. Stanford finding a way to win ugly on the road in a game they really didn't play well (UW would love to have come out with an ugly W two weeks ago) and the dam builders played a hell of a game. That last fumble was a back breaker, but they did so many good things in that game. It's something they can still build off of for sure. I'd for sure give some ball catching drills to that secondary though. Missed like 5 interceptions last night? :noidea:

Still a much more interesting game than anyone would have guessed going into it.

Well played both of you.

:suds:

$500 is all you can spare? :noidea:

Sure. If UW can't find a way to win by a large margin tomorrow they won't win the north, more or less reach any of their goals for the season.

Don't you mean is that all I want to give away?

Bruins will only win on a miracle from the football gods! (And Mora's done nothing to appease them football gods his entire career, that's for sure!) The best shot of a Mora led Bruins squad beating Petersen's Dawgs this year in Seattle after a bye week went out the door with that UW loss in the desert last they played.

No chance of sneaking up on the sleeping giant, Pete's team of coaches and entire squad will be the poster child for Red Bull Saturday, wide awake and with wings!

Okay, I put it up on the exchange for you to accept.

Not true, they just need to win to take the North. Even a close win doesn't end your chances for the Playoffs too, might tarnish it a bit, but UW will still be in the hunt with one loss.

And as I said, to me ASU and USC both have legit chances at taking the south and I only gave a very very slight edge to ASU just based off the remaining schedule difficulty and nothing more. Both are flawed teams. Right now today I'd rank ASU's defense a little higher than USC's and while their offense hasn't been turning the ball over like USC, they also aren't anywhere near as dynamic.

I don't know what one vs the other changes that much for UW. USC doesn't have any street cred this year at all. Sure, they will be ranked if they win out so there's that, but will the committee really look at that as an elite level win? If ASU won out they would finish 9-3 and be back in the ranking at least in the lower 20's and a strong win vs them would remove most of the impact of the loss against them mid season which has to weigh on the committee.

It's all mostly moot and just fodder anyway. SEC might get two into the playoffs this year, an undefeated Penn State would be in and even one loss would still be in over UW, TCU has a chance to make it in. ND and Clemson are both ahead of them now and won't drop below them without another loss. Should Ohio State win out they are in. And of course with the sputtering offense and a fucking horrible kicking game along with a friday night Pac12 after dark road game to Stanford looming in 3 weeks there is no guarantee UW does it's part and wins out in the first place. Just doesn't feel like their year to me.
