It's a shame Gonzaga isn't in the Pac 12, because they'd be doing the same thing to this league they are in the WCC and then them getting a 1 seed wouldn't be questioned as much.

Oregon and Arizona are good enough to trip them up at home. Outside of that, the top of the WCC and the Pac-12 isn't all that different.

I can see that against Oregon maybe. But they did win at Zona earlier this season.

lol, oops

it's likely that Gonzaga would probably finish between 16-2 and 18-0 in the Pac-12

If they were to lose it would most likely be at Oregon. But Gonzaga would run away with the conference.

Maybe this year...certainly not every year. The talent level on the lower PAC teams is much higher than it is on the lower WCC teams. Zags would find the grind quite a bit different at first.

I'd say pretty easily the last three years including this one. 2016 was a down year for Gonzaga and Oregon was really good that year. 2015 would have been a toss up between Zona and Gonzaga. 2013 too for Gonzaga.

I think you're underestimating the depth of the conference. Not saying they wouldn't win several times, but they'd rack up quite a few more conference losses along the way.

The depth of the conference relative to the WCC, sure. But the Pac 12 has been pretty mediocre going on 6/7 years now, with the exception of 2016 when the league was really deep that year.

Well, why would I be comparing the PAC to any conference other than the WCC for the purposes of this discussion?

Yes it's better depth wise than the WCC, but in comparison to other power leagues, there isn't much depth to the Pac 12. It's been that way since 2016, and that appears to have been out of the ordinary because since then the Pac 12 has gotten 4 bids, 3 bids and 3 bids respectively to the tournament since that year, and this year would appear to be 4, maybe 5.

Again, for the purposes of this discussion, PAC12 vs WCC is the only relevant comparison.

And I'm saying that better depth that the Pac 12 has isn't enough to offset my conclusion that Gonzaga would easily have won the conference the last couple of seasons, including this one. Yes ASU, Oregon State and Stanford are better than Santa Clara, Pacific and San Francisco, but that doesn't matter, I guess is my point. The lack of depth in the Pac 12 overall is telling.
