Pablo Sandoval vs Justin Verlander

We all know what Pablo did to Justin (and another pitcher) in game 1 of the 2012 Series.

But I was just reading the Athletic in a piece about Verlander’s career and past bounce back seasons and so on, and was reminded that in the 2012 All Star game, Pablo had a bases clearing triple off him that won the game….and this is when that game determined home field advantage in the Series.

So he kinda helped there too and further earned his 2012 WSMVP. The Giants swept the Tigers so you might say it didn’t matter, but baseball is fickle and each game of a WS changes things, and the sweep was probably aided when they won the first 2 at home….on the road who knows what happens

Pence is my favorite. No other player simply brought a smile to my face the way he did. He was an absolute joy to watch, even it did hurt watching him warm up.
