The line for over/under wins for Nebraska is out. It is set at 9.5.

If I was a betting man, which I am not (outside of small friendly family wagers), I would take the under on 9.5. Too many offensive question marks and lots of holes to fill on defense to sit here today and put a bet on the over with confidence.

I'd take the over all day every day on 9.5

Even setting aside bias. 9.5 favors the over with the ccg assuming this includes post regular season.

The husker fan in me says over all day long, the realist in me says it would be prudent to bet on the unders.

It is just the 12 game regular season.

My regular season prediction is 10-2 at best. But if I was betting money I would say 9-3. I see alot of close games and those could go either way.

I think any worse than 10-2 is a major disappointment and means that the O is worse. Wis I think is our very toughest game and if Mich is trying the spread like I have read Bo has a very good track record against that as does the b10. Wis and Ohio St are who I see as the toughest on the schedule and one has a new coach and lost a lot of starters.

Chattanooga Win

Fresno Win

Washington Should Win

Wyoming Win

Wisconsin I favor us to win but this is the most likely one to lose

Ohio St. Should win this

Minnesota Our 3r string could beat MN and thats even b4 considering they have a new coach.

Mich. St. We should win this. They are the OSU of the B10

Northwestern Win

Penn. St. Should win. They have questions at QB and they were down last year.

Mich. Win They have been on a decade long very slow slide and new coach. Mich has not done well selecting new coaches with the last three. Each has a worse record than the one b4. Tho they might have hit it right this time I want to see it. Maybe by mid season I will have changed my mind.

Iowa WIN The last two years Iowa has had to come from behind in the last min. in A LOT of games to win. And to their credit they did so until about the 3/4th mark of the season, then they lose and have a hard time winning no matter who the comp. is.

B10 Champ. Game Wis and Neb. And one of us will be out to avenge a reg season loss.

I think this game will be our toughest of the season, even including bowl games.

That's about how I see it, Yu

we SHOULD win all of our games, and are likely the better team in most of them.

Thats what this time of year is all about. And this year in some ways is tougher to guess at cause we haven't played any of them in a very long time. And have to take what teams we played in the recent past and how we did against them and how that team did against any of the B10 teams to do a decent guess at things. At least the way I do things. And well sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. I look at the last two years and Mizzou beat Illinois pretty soundly and Illinois was one of five teams tied in the top couple places in the B10 last year. And I have not had a lot of respect toward most of the B10 teams personally cause I live in MN and have seen what has been happening for most of the teams. Once you get below the top three to 4 teams of the old B10 there is a huge drop in team quality in my book, much more than there is in the B12. I think there are at least three teams that even KU and IA St could beat every year with ease. And they like Ia St seem to have those rivalry games where they will do the unexpected against one or two teams a year but then they are out of gas or the coach is not good at game plane or motivation for the other games. Somethin goes on diff.

The biggest ? for me is Ohio St. just cause of everything that is going on there right now. And as I have said Wisconsin is the one that worries me the most, tho I think we can handle them, it should be a very good game. It will be nice to see what the old Husker player was able to bring to Wis and how much of that got passed down to the new coach a few years back when Alvarez took the AD job at Wis. I think they kept to most of what Alvarez was doing. Hey it worked pretty well.

And I like the fact that it looks like we have a backup at QB that really changes things up with the kind of game he plays as compared T-Mart and that is really nice cause T-Mart will have to work harder to keep the starting job and I think that only helps us on O. We need guys that can really compete at least two or three deep at every position to keep the starters working hard and the non-starters working hard.

We didn't seem to have that after Frank was let go or until Bo got back here. At least on D. I think the favoritism card was played a lot on the O side while Watson was here and I hated that. Now I hope that we see development of all the players, something I didn't see on the O side under Watson.

Lets hope that the O can score two or three TD's at least a game. If they do that then we should win every game. I just do not think Bo/s D will start letting the team down. They have an attitude and pride on that side of the Ball and unity. Now we need that to spread throughout the team starting this year.

I think the over would be a decent bet if we can get out of our habit of dropping those stupid games that we shouldn't (ISU in '09, Washington last year). In those games it seems like we think we can just show up and win the game, and that does not work (obviously). Hopefully the leadership of this team can help prevent that from happening. That said, I would never place a bet involving the Huskers. I couldn't bet against them, and it would make losing doubly painful.

Those where O side total meltdowns. The D has always shown in those games. And Watson was the coach. If Bo got it right at least we will have a person at OC that can make game time changes, design a plan that will use the kids in the best way and if what he wants to run isn't working finding something that does and stick with it and coaching/developing all the kids not just the starters and not having and playing favorites. All things that I feel Watson did. To me Watson really only wanted the Callahan O and didn't seem to develop players esp the non-starters. And in the bowl game with Wash. D and special teams came to play but the O looked flat and uninspired all game long. It looked like Watson knew already that he was gone and didn't have the professionalism to properly prep and call for the game. At the very least the O was not playing with any apparent motivation.

Agreed that those games were definitely lost on the offensive side of the ball. I mean in the ISU game we needed a FIELD GOAL. we had 8 turnovers and all we would have had to do is get inside field goal range to win it. i remember being at that game and thinking, ok, its first down on the 20, let henery kick it! I also agree that having Wats didn't help us at all in that regard. i also think it will help if Burkhead and Martinez (if what is being said about him this summer is true) lead by example and hold everyone accountable. if we can play more disciplined we will see a lot of improvement.
