I really like it. In no order.

Top 9 forwards - Briere, Giroux, Jvr, Hartnell (sorry tox), Versteeg, Horacek, Schenn, Simmonds, ?.

4th line - Betts, Shelly, Nodl, Read, Holmstrom, Testwuide and maybe Kalikski (also good on PK)

Top 5 dmen - Pronger, Timonen, Meszaros, Carle, Coburn

6-7 candidates. Marshall, Gustafsson, Bourdon and Bartulis. Its time to get a young guy going.

Goalies - Bryzgalov and Bob.

Outside of 1 top 9 forward and a veteran dman, for depth at 6-7, we dont need anything. We have some decent depth that will be in AHL.

I do worry about the 6th d-man spot. Especially if Pronger and Kimmo aren't healthy.

That's why I agree it would be wise to sign a guy like Greene, Lundin, Huskins, Lepisto, Sopel, Mara or Babchuk cheap to fill out the top six and also provide insurance in case of an injury so that we're not potentially starting two guys like Bartulis and Gustafsson who have very little Nhl experience.

Timonen is 36. That's his only issue that I know of...lol

No major injury like Prongs. He's just getting older. Last year wasn't his best year. Maybe it was just one off year and he'll go back to the old Kimmo. We'll see. They aren't getting any younger though, that's for sure.

You have to give him credit for being durable at his age though. He's missed zero games over the last two seasons and he was still a +11 last season with 37 points.

Oh, trust me, I love Kimmo. He is a beast.

Wish I had seen this thread earlier...damn you real life.....

I will just say that I felt the Flyers needed a top 6 forward (either Leino or someone from the outside) a proven swing player who can go on the 3rd or 4th line and kill penalties. And they needed at least one real NHL D. Bartulis has shown some real flashes, but not nearly consistent enough to count on as your 6. you want that pairing to eat time and let your top PP and PK players rest their legs. Bartulis, IMHO would get exposed with too much time.
