I think it has to do with the fact the Bears have unproven/little talent at QB and no threats at WR. May be a '76 version of the Bears this season... Decent defense keeps them in games, and on offense it is run, run, run, punt.

I am of the opinion that Jordan Howard is someone you can build a team around. I think he is going to be a star.

I also think being able to run the ball, mentally and physically beats down opponents.

I think the Bears have a bright future, and I think it's centered around Howard.

Not that meaning. I thought the schedules were based on how the teams finished last season. I see the bears play the browns and the 49ers while the packers play Seattle and Dallas other than the division games and NFC South games.

They abandoned that system years ago. I believe there is only 2 games on the schedule that the previous year's record has an effect on. The rest is "predetermined and rotational so the every team plays every team, every so many years(something like that)

Every division's teams have the same schedule, besides two conference games.

You rotate which division you play in each conference, every year.

For instance... The NFC North has played

AFC North - 2013
AFC East - 2014
AFC West - 2015
AFC South - 2016

Now... we'll play the AFC North again, as the four year cycle starts over. Everyone in the division plays CIN, PIT, BAL and CIN.

The NFC division the NFC North faces, rotates as well. Except in a cycle of three years, since we're one of the four divisions and we always play each other twice regardless.

2014 - NFC South
2015 - NFC West
2016 - NFC East

Now the south again.

The locations of these games switches off too. EXAMPLE: In 2005, we played Baltimore at home when we played the AFC North. In 2009, we played in Baltimore. In 2013, we played at home. Now, this season... we'll go and play in Baltimore. Then... in 2021, they'll play at Soldier Field. Pretty simple.

The two other conference games are one team from the other two NFC divisions. It's based on alignment with the team that finished in the same spot in that division, as we did in the North.

We finished 4th in the North. Niners finished 4th in the West. Eagles finished 4th in the East. We already play the South. Therefore, we get the Niners and Eagles as our two extra conference games.

Green Bay came in 1st. They get Seattle and Dallas, because those were the two teams in the West and East who finished first.

Every year, the schedule is based around this formula, for all teams in any division in the NFL:

6 games vs Division Opponents
4 games vs Annually Rotating NFC division
4 games vs Annually Rotating AFC division
2 games vs Aligned Conference Opponent From Previous Season

The only way the schedule is effected by the previous season's results, is those two games. That's it. We already know our schedule in ANY future year, outside of two games.

For instance, in 2018... we'll play the NFC West and AFC East. In 2019, we'll play the NFC East and AFC West... In 2020, we'll play the NFC South and AFC South... and so on and so forth, into infinity. It's just those two games that we don't know yet.

Yes, that was abandoned with the realignment in 2002.

I explained the system in detail above.

Oh I totally agree! I think the Bears are a few pieces away from having a good team... Just not this season, unfortunately.

Yeah no doubt. Other than lacking an elite player somewhere, a few legit pro bowlers, a real quarterback, and anything more than wishes and hopes from a lot suffering fanbase, the bears are really good.

I'm rooting for you guys to have a good draft. A number three pick is a rare asset. You can get someone special. But right now, the Bears suck ass more than you homers are admitting to yourselves

A Bills fan would know a shitty team when it sees one.

I'm not going to arm wrestle you over which of our shitty teams sucks worse. They are both really bad. Like arguing over whether roaches or rats are better. But reading the Chicago posts seems delusional beyond Bills fanbase degrees. JMO.

Yeah, we have our homers, but what would the world be without hope?

Anyway, you do hear a lot of positive remarks saying we would be better if we weren't so injured and we might have a winning record next year from the same people who are planning on having a top draft pick next year to take a QB. It gets pretty asinine.

Haha..I predicted 2-14. Lol

One fan in two pages picked over 7 wins and he is a homer. lel We have one prediction of a top 5 pick, and I think two that predicted us picking No. 1 overall next year.

I don't see the delusions:noidea:

Speak for yourself. Most people don't realize that the Bears lost just about every starter they had last season, including their first and second string QB's. They played with their entire practice squad outside of Howard for just about an entire month at one point. No idea who could do better than 3-13 with that dealt to them. The fact they still had a top ten D most of the season, is pretty impressive.

They're not good, but they're better than most think and provided they stay healthy for once. They will be a surprisingly tough team to get a W against. The team was trending in a good direction in 2015, and then the injuries ravaged them. Their personnel is better than it was in 2015, when they were two missed Gould FG's away from finishing 8-8.

They're not going to be a pushover, by any stretch.

Outside of one poster, I don't see who the hell on this board thinks this is a winning team.

I think you're the one with delusions. Fuck off out of here, if you simply came here to tell us we suck. What's the point? You think we don't know that?

Do you go to cancer wards, and remind dying children that they're sick too? Ya fuckin jerk off...

If they're being a jerk off, of course.

Fuck off... jerk off.

If I saw you, I'd say it to your face. Then I'd bend over your mother and stick it in her ass.

What do you think of dem apples?

I think that if you actually do act like this, then who the Chicago Bears draft is the least of your problems. As it happens, I'd bet with a lot of confidence that you don't, because you still have use of your fingers.

And I'm sure you just barge up to opposing fans, talking trash about their favorite team.

Yes, if someone did that in real life, I'd call them out.

Go die in a car crash, you miserable prick.

Calling a bad team crappy, players mediocre and overrated by a fanbase, a fanbase with excessive Homerism is pretty commonplace bar talk. People may argue back but usually they do so in sane tones and football comebacks. I've certainly heard my share of this thrown in my face over decades, and I like most normal people don't snap like firecrackers when their delicate tempers meltdown like a snowflake.

Calling people fuckers, telling them to fuck off and that you'd fuck their mothers and hope they die in car crashes is not normal. Your posting behavior on here is littered with this kind of thing. How do you think having a massive temper tantrum anytime you get even mild criticism comes across to people? Obviously you don't care. You need to vent. I hope you aren't as awful to people in real life, or as miserable as you plainly seem.

Look at the board, you nitwit douche. 99% of the people here know we suck. WTF are you talking about?

To use your bar analogy, this is the equivalent of you walking up to a table of strangers in Bears jerseys, who you don't know and just saying; "Hey, just so you know. You guys fucking suck, and you're all homers! BYE!"

We were 3-13, shit for brains. You think we don't know we're bad? Holy shit.

Seriously, you are an asshole. What is this whole bit you're doing about "I hope you don't do this in real life?"

Who the fuck do you think you are dude? You're trolling a Bears board on the internet, what did you expect in return? "Welcome friend! Please! Tell us how we suck and how we're all homers! We love to hear about that!"

Do you have mental problems? Are you delusional? What the fuck is wrong with you?

If we were in a bar when this conversation started, you'd have gotten a bottle broken across your stupid face a long time ago. So, be thankful. Now, fuck off unless you want to drop the troll act... and actually converse about football.

I didn't say you guys "fucking suck." I haven't used the word fuck or fucker except in reference to things you say. I've said the types of things I've said over a thousand times over my life and no one has ever hit me with anything other than a good comeback. I haven't personally attacked anyone other than pointing out that you are being incredibly obnoxious online, and in a seriously abnormal way.

If you believe that saying players is overrated is equivalent to your portrayal, you should rethink that. If you genuinely see equivalency in what you are saying, you need to step away from this place and realize how you are acting. If you think criticizing a running back and the last of elite quarterbacks without swearing at people and throwing a hissy fit would get me beaten up, you should expect full nuclear Armageddon in response to your behavior.

I've seen how you have acted on these football forums. I know that deep down you must not care about it. Fine then don't care. But you have been acting like a total coksucker it is football man, we can argue about football without wishing each other dead. I'd think. If you don't, man, this is advice not an order, but maybe it is time for a break before you do something even worse.

Be well. Take a deep breath. Trying to win every argument on an internet board is not worth your life.
