Our 1st season here

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone here for making this site such a cool place to come to. I'm new to message boards, (I'm just getting back into hockey from the lockout), and everyone here has treated me and each other with respect. It goes to show that, for the most part, quality people were invited and the chat has been enjoyable for all. I don't know if many of you will be here during the off season, but your input here will be missed the next 3 months. I hope everyone has a safe and happy summer and I look forward to seeing you back here in the fall. I'll probably be popping in here every day so I hope I see some of you around. This is a great place with great people. Thanks again everyone for making this 1st season here a success.

Beantown, I hope to see you around as well. We do have good posters here and some of us are working on getting more.

We don't have the numbers some of the other sites do (yet) but we will get there. The off season slows down in most places but keep in mind we do have other forums here such as general discussion and other sports.

I will be around (esp since im a mod) and love pro football so will probably be over there sometimes as well.

Like I said we do not have as many posters as some other places but I think most agree that I will take quality over quantity.

You're a good poster and good luck to your Bruins next year. But, not against my Sabres

Yeah, people will be around. Summer in the hockey board is usually time for all the hypothetical discussions (relocating, etc) So there will be that I'd imagine. I also follow baseball so I guess I will be checking out that too. Sucks to be a Blue Jays fan but when they make it again, it will be sweet!

BTM, as a new guy (Past January) myself I am surprised that I went from first few trolly threads on the General to Sport SportsHoopla member. I will be around posting, but probablt not as much with hockey not going on.

I'll be around a bit. I like the NHL forums, though the offseason coverage is going to be snoozy. Do we want to make this forum a World Cup forum in the offseason? Soccer and hockey are probably the two most similar sports, and the World Cup is starting just as the Stanley Cup is ending.

Or we could just have a World Cup forum created, but I don't know if the mods want to set that up only to likely have it die out in a few months.

Last regular season on the other board we all migrated from, I ran a picks contest using Saturday games. Each person was set up against one other person and they had to pick the winners of all the games. It was a NHL style playoff format. So I have two questions.

1. Do you guys have interest in me running something similar next season?

2. Has the champion from that tournament been invited to join us here, AzDuckFan?

It's been a lot of fun so far and knowing guys like Dare, Boss, Dash and many others like I do....this board may see some slow days this summer, but all in all, they will have something to talk about daily through out the next 3 months.
