I think Nate Fisher from Six Feet Under would be my pick. The Wire and The Sopranos were outstanding, but creating such a good show without the natural drama and tension of crime is a tougher task. And Six Feet Under did it SO, so well. It helped me think about death and meaning in a way religion never did, and nobody more so than Nate.

I can't decide between Todd Ianuzzi and Don Cherry but leaning towards Todd.

I think Todd is the better choice. Cherry just isn't believable as a real human being and I think the actor who plays him is just over the top.
