Maybe I've changed my mind regarding shootouts in soccer. I thought it was a bad idea initially, but upon seeing my first-ever SO, all I can think to say is, if you miss a net that big you don't deserve to move on to the next round.

Quite comical. Goalie has no choice but to guess and so he flops one way and the shooter kicks the ball in the opposite direction. lol.

Spain had 3 good shots on net before Portugal had it's first completed pass.
play seems to have evened up since then though.

10 minutes in, and no dives or tears from Ronaldo yet, so that's something.

Spain is a constantly attacking team, Portugal has and is trying to be a very solid defensive team and capitalize on their offensive chances. Kind of like, say, Washington Capitals vs New Jersey Devils.

Ill agree with the Portugal - Devils comparison ... Jose Mourinho is the soccer equivalent of Jacques Lemaire and his influence is all over portuguese soccer

gonna have to catch the CBC replay tonight, I guess...

it was only on screen for a couple of seconds.

she was a dark haired beauty with big brown eyes.
and points of her own, sitting way up high.
way up firm and high.

next World Cup is in Rio, right? that should be legendary.
