Anyone have U-verse for the TV provider? I am in a new area and ATT is the service provider. I see on the Kings TV schedule the channel is 1772 but when I search that channel under U-verse it shows up as Fox Sports West Sun. Just want to confirm that is the channel that shows Kings games.

Thanks!

U-Verse blows. Go with DirecTV.

Ms. Puck had U-Verse from 2005-2010, nothing but issues. At the time they didn't carry Center Ice either, don't know if that has changed. We had TW forever at the house in Yora Linda, after they kept jacking my rates up we made the switch to DirecTV in Dec 2013, couldn't be happier.

Bad news
Att bought directv

Yeah, I know - was not happy to hear that earlier this year and was nervous about the transition. If AT&T was going to manage the service side, I assumed it would be no better than AT&T. But they chose not to disturb the DirecTV model, kept the same management in place and the only connection they have is financial. They are not involved in their day to day operations and business model. After 6 months so far, I have not experienced anything different since AT&T bought them, hope that doesn't change.

When we got DirecTV, they partnered with AT&T so we got the bundle package for interwebz and TV, AT&T for 1 year and DTV for 2. AT&T promised better connection, it's our own fiber optic line so no sharing, etc. They also promised me free install. Fast forward 3 months and it was the worst internet I have ever experienced, it crashed constantly, stuff like Netflix didn't work, I couldn't access the DTV library, constant reset, etc.

To boot they billed me for install on the first invoice, I called and told them I was not to be charged, they credited it on the second month, it showed up again on the third month, I called them again and they said we gave you the credit on the second month and cannot credit you again. Huh? I shouldn't have been billed for it at all, you dumb shits.

I Richardsed the contract 3 months later in March 2014 and gladly ate the $150 ETF, went back to TW for internet only and have had zero issues since.

There in lies the rub. I would like DirecTV (good experience in the past) but, the new place I am going to be living, the HOA does not allow dishes on the roof. If I were to put one on a stand, I have to apply for board approval.

You might be able to fight that
Here is a link to the law
Over-the-Air Reception Devices Rule
I didn't read it ( not my issue) but even if you win, you could end up losing.
In one of the condos I own ( rent it out ) the HOA board people are total asses. If you get on their bad side, they come after you for anything. I left a bike on the deck overnight because, I forgot. One night, they sent me a warning of 200.00 fine.
I contested it by saying it was only there for an hour while I was on the phone.
The place I live in now, when I told them I was getting DirecTv they were ok, just asked if I would work with the tech to put the dish someplace not too visible from the street. Very fair.

My daughters' mom just moved to Yorba Linda last weekend, although into an apartment. We talked about her getting DTV so we could both get a discount on our bills.

Laguna D, owing a rental, is it legal for the apartment complex to ask for a $300 deposit if a dish is mounted? That's what they told her so she said no and is going with TW.

I don't know ( maybe a damage waiver). Lots of HOA and apt renters want to make it hard to put the dish up. It is ugly and can cause damage to the roof when they mount it. The piss ass HOA has a rule that you can't damage the wood. All the dishes have to be pole mounted and strapped without piercing the wood. A couple of people have fought it saying that the pole mount won't bring the dish high enough to see over the roof. I had cox there. I had to replace the cable once. They didn't want me to run the line outside ( in conduit) and then through a wall. I said ok I will have them pull a line internally but since it has to run through a carport area and a shared wall, they would have to pay for it. They took the method I wanted. It cost me 150.00 but it was done in a day with no repairs to inside the unit needed.
