I have read a bunch of the graphic novels and really liked them. The writer is working AMC and said it will follow it closely. It should be a lot of fun.

Zombies are cool though . lol. Aside from like being the last man on earth with all beautiful bombshells, thats another fantasy of mine, world being overrun by zombies. Seeking refuge and capping them with endless amounts of ammo.

yes, but there are zombie movies, and then there are ZOMBIE MOVIES!
this looks like the latter.

While it doesn't look like it from the trailer, the graphic novels are as much about the few humans left trying to move on in some sort of civilized way as they are about zombies. In fact the main bad guys that have been in it have been human.

Not that the zombies don't get a great number of people.

From what I read instead of a pilot AMC gave the go ahead for 6 episodes. If they do well it will be back for another season.

yikes so it is a series and not a mini-series ... how the heck are they gonna pull off a zombie episodic series ... will we be seeing zombie sex by season 2?

yikes so it is a series and not a mini-series ... how the heck are they gonna pull off a zombie episodic series ... will we be seeing zombie sex by season 2?

Unless its changed dramatically from the comics no. The zombies are pretty brain dead and somewhat slow. Minor spoiler: in the series when a person died they become a zombie, and if they get bit they do as well.

When it was announced it thought to be paired with Mad Men and many people though it was an odd match up, a dialogue driven drama with a zombie show. It really doesn't seem that odd to me though.
With the zombies as a constant danger and backdrop the comics are more about the survivors trying to feed themselves, protect themselves, govern themselves, and even enjoy themselves at times.

The other people they come across are more dangerous than the zombies for the most part. There's a horrific torture scene in one issue a power drill, blow torch, genital mutilation, spoon sodomizing, and gouging an eye with said spoon. All done to the same person. Minor spoiler: he was a really bad guy.

The comics are great and very stylish in black and white (and some books of collected issues were in my local library) so I think the show should be fun. Also if its like the books, no characters - not even main ones - are safe.

This show sounds friggin awesome. Wish it was on HBO or Showtime, woulda made it better.
