For a period of time, I woke up to the song "I Got You Babe" every morning on my alarm clock.

It was strange.

Its not that weird but it seems to me that I often learn or hear about something for the first time then I will hear about it a whole lot right away.

Last week I watched a TV show that mentioned 'number stations". Not really knowing about them I looked them up and read about them. The next night I loaded up Call Of Duty Black Ops and the prologue was about a number station and a code.

I was reading the news a few months ago and read an article about the Voynich Manuscript and that night there was mention of it in a book I was reading (Samantha Bee's comic bio).

I never knew about Archimedes Mirror and read about it one day in a book I was reading then saw that Myth Busters was researching that for an upcoming episode.

Nothing too amazing, just little coincidences that always amuse me.

I know what you mean, I can't count how many times when watching games on TV my dad will say something about the game and then seconds later the announcers will say exactly what he said word for word. Or I'll say something like "man I haven't seen (insert obscure movie title) in a while," and then it will be on the next day.

The devils blues game tonight has been very strange .first the officials allowed the blues to whack away at mckenna for about thirty seconds until the puck went in followed by calling a devil for taking one whack at halak a minute later.that was followed by mckenna knocking the puck in his own net with his ass after the puck came off the glass.then again its kinda been the norm for our season so far.atleast clarkson scored 26 seconds in and tedenby looked like parise on that breakaway.

The part time job that I have has me talking to people from all over the world. There are instances that I call my my small world experience and I've got many.

One of the hockey ones is when I saw a fellow walking by me with a Canadien's tee shirt on. I commented that I was a Canadien fan since 1953. He told me the he was from Montreal and that his uncle was Ken Mosdell, who played for the Habs. I told him that I still have his autograph that I got back in 1953.

Another time I asked a woman where she was visiting from and she said "Toronto." I then asked her if she lived right in Toronto. She said that she lived in Milton. Milton being a small town, I then responded, "Bruce Hood." He refereed in the NHL, lived and owned the travel agency in Milton. She then asked me if I knew Bruce. I told her that we were good friends and that we refereed together in the IHL before he went up to the NHL. She told me that she and her husband were good friends with him also and her husband, Murray Townsend, wrote the book "Calling The Shots" with Bruce. It's about Bruce's refereeing career and that she proof read the book before it was published. I told her that I'm mentioned in the book.

Every time you post, I find it very interesting because you know an NHL that nobody I have ever met knows. I wish you would post more about the days of old because other than fuzzy video and an article or 2, I find it really cool to hear it first hand by your experiences.

I posted this on the general board but don't know how mny of you go there.

Have you ever had something happen in your life that made you say WTF!!!

Weird story but true. My father in law had cancer and wanted to be home with hospice care. So when he got close to death I called hospice and said you better get a nurse here because I think he's ready to go.

They told me I don't think so it's too early. I replied "unfortunately I have seen a few and trust me ha doesn't have long". So they sent a nurse over.

I contacted my father in laws family and asked them if they wanted to come over to give their good bye's. I figured I would put the stereo on and play some soft music so I picked an oldies station.

When everyone was there the nurse said "I think you right he doesn't have long. A few minutes later he passed and (I swear this is the truth) just as he stopped breathing the nurse checked him and he was gone.

At that exact moment the song Spirit in the sky by Norman Greenbaum came on the radio. Even the hospice nurse said "wow that's freaky" we all just looked at each other like Holy Shit! What weird timing.

Anyone else ever had something like this happen? When ever I hear that song now I think of that day. Very strange.

My father in law told me once he went in for a prostate exam, and the doctor had a radio playing on a classic rock station in his exam room. Right as he began the exam, "Take a Walk on the Wild Side" came on. Not quite the same thing, but it sure made those men feel uncomfortable.

For all the horrible picks I make around here, I actually predicted the day our new baby was born. And I predicted it before we even had our first doctor visit.

lol Damn Doctors were off by a week. Sounding more like the weatherman there, doc... :D
