did those 1992 riots change anything in life? sounds like he got quite the settlement after to have a house with a pool or he actually did well in life after
RIP rodney. It was an interesting time that you went through. I hope good came of it. maybe a more alertness to how witnesses take part now maybe this was the birth of everyone with how they use camera phones for everything.
I'll take a beating from the cops for $3.8m.
Reginald Denny got nothing but a days pay for going to work and doing his job that day. Too bad it wasn't caught on video ....oh never mind it was.

Morale of the story - If you are going to get nearly beaten to death, better to be beaten to death by individuals representing an entity with hundreds of millions of dollars than four poor dudes.
One of the assailants was a former US Marine. Perhaps the US military should be held financially accountable for the actions of Henry Watson?
If he was no longer employed by the Marines, no chance. And even if he was, if he wasn't performing his job at the time of the beating, it wouldn't have mattered anyway. Life/justice isn't always fair. The depth of the pockets of the people who wrong you definitely impacts the kind of money you'll get in any lawsuit.
I'm not siding one way or another, both were awful and I can't stand racism, biggotry, homophobia, etc. on any level. There are definitely some racist pieces of shit on this board and on the general board who I would love to beat the hate out of, but Boss isn't one of them.
And I think it's easy to say you'd take that money, but I'm not sure Mr. King would agree with you. Don't know him - but I bet having your entire life being defined by being high on PCP and getting your ass beat probably sucked.

What happened to Rodney King wasn't racist. I had the opportunity to see the entire video footage (instead of the media's version of 90 seconds). Rodney was racing through the streets of a neighorhood (or neighbourhood for my Canadian Brothers) endangering lives. When the police pulled him over, he attacked. They attempted to subdue him with an older type electronic control device that worked on the level of pain complience. They could have (and should have) used deadly force. The police were not convicted for the Rodney King incident, but for joking about it afterward. Sorry, I just don't see Rodney King and a hero or symbol for anything.

Unlike Cocaine, PCP IS a hell of a drug.
