OT: May 15

What's up friends? Sorry for the OT thread....just a quick update for some of you guys that I have known for years between here and the swamp...today is May 15... and some of you might recall my accident at work on May 15, 2008 that damn near killed me... my face was crushed by a 3 lb. steel clamp that was launched into my face at about 100 mph...the last 3 years have included 33 hours of reconstructive surgery, including peeling my face down, jaw wired shut for 2 months, feeding tubes, etc.... hardest 3 years of my life...anyway....I'm a liitle drunk right now...celebrating my "alive day":..feeling much better these days and finally getting back to normal...just a hello from me to any one that was concerned....thanks everyone...and Go Pens!

I know I don't really know you and I'm still kind of new here. But you deserve more then a few drinks. A really amazing story. You must be one hell of a fighter. I give you tons of respect for that. I'm sure you'll have quite a few alive days to come. I sincerely hope that they are all awesome. If I had a drink right now I would raise it to you.

I am glad you are doing well Rick. I think you are a great poster and person. We used to argue all the time, but to me it was all in good fun! I never mean/meant anything personal. Call me ESPNCarrotTop for old time sakes. lol. It really sounds like a scary injury. Its been a long time but I am glad you are well.

Amen Brother. We did get to meet some good people there and fortunately a good bunch of them came here.

Rick, If I remember correctly didn't you get air lifted to Allegany {SP?} General after your accident? It's always serious when they call in the chopper. So glad it hit you where it did as opposed to the top or front of the forehead where it could have been fatal. As comeds said you're a good poster and we would have missed you as I miss Backin_72 (Terry) that passed away.

I don't know how many of you remember him (I know Dash does) but he was a very good classy poster. We had a few classy poster's there and a lot of them here.

There isn't a damn thing I miss about that place. I have noticed that since we left, it has become even more of a joke. The same old discussions that we used to get sucked into over there, still occur.

I peek over there from time to time and see some posters that post here but seem to prefer posting there. To each their own I guess but would like to know why they prefer that shit hole.

Like you said it's the same old shit every time, like the movie Groundhogs Day with Bill Murray. I expect to hear "I got you babe" by Sonny and Cher when I go there.

I didn't know you back then but since I've met you here on these boards, I've come to know you as a classy poster and a great guy. I'm sorry to hear you had such a horrific accident and a tough recovery, but happy to hear you're doing much better and have such a good outlook on life. I hope you post every May 15th so we can all share a drink with a great friend.
