I'm not used to science not coming easily to me. None of my classes are going well this semester, and I'm not dealing well with it.

I split my collegiate training between chemistry and physics. There are a lot of things my professors assume I already know as a "chemistry major," and I don't know them, nor do I know where to find them.

I also struggle to learn things I can't connect to what I already know, and a lot of what we're doing in a lot of my classes falls into that category.

I just feel like I'm so behind all of a sudden. Apparently, by tomorrow, I'm supposed to know what I'm going to research for my dissertation. I haven't the slightest clue.

In summary, I'm not nearly as smart as I thought I was...

Sounds initially as tho you either have shitty professors or you had shitty professors who didn't teach you everything you needed to learn?

My spectroscopy and kinetics professors aren't that good, but my advanced quantum professor is excellent. In college, the only bad experience I had in a science class was inorganic, and I think a lot of that had to do with me being a freshman taking a class with juniors and seniors and just getting overwhelmed.

Also...that fucking scary ass storm line is now reaching from Texas right through to Michigan. Right down tornado alley. Looks like I'm in for a rough night.
