Just concluded an orgy of golf this weekend. U.S. Open was amazing this weekend. The stuff those guys can do is simply incredible. I hate to say it, but it pwnd the Winter Classic as a sports experience.

It is pretty impressive.

-The logistics alone are incredible and the USGA does EVERYTHING right. They had a small city built (largely on top of the other course at Congressional) with all kinds of cool stuff including a free video analysis of my swing.
-The course was amazing. I'd seriously pay $1000 to play it. Hope I get the chance someday. Just being able to walk around and look at it was worth the admission.
-You get SO close to the golfers it's ridiculous. Was near Anthony Kim and heard him drop the "f" bomb. Congratulated Graeme McDowell after the round today. Walked right by Jim Furyk, Davis Love, and Chris Berman after a rain delay on one of the paths.
-The way these guys are so consistent is sick. And you really can't appreciate the pressure on TV - how hard the greens and shots really are, the incredible distance they cover, how much is going on, clanging, making noise, watching around them while they are trying to play top caliber golf. It's really incredible.
-The crowds were enormous. The noise from the course today was cool. On Friday, it was cool to have so much room and you could interact with the golfers, most of whom were very gracious in smiling, waving, and even chatting with the fans.

Went on Friday and Saturday. Amazing time. And happy to report the waters were only $2.50, D'stone.

I'm definitely going again before it makes it's way back to DC (who knows when that will be).

San Francisco at the Olympic Club - in your neighborhood too (sort of).

I think it's going to Washington state in like 4-5 years.

I was just telling my friend Nick yesterday that I want to learn to play golf.

I haven't golfed in years. I enjoy watching the majors, however.
