No, it's not. You don't see it in old film of the game. I never saw anyone do that growing up. It didn't use to be that way. It's BECOME part of the game and it's something they should figure out how to eliminate. Just my opinion, but I don't watch much soccer and that's a big reason why.

And yet, it's pretty accepted on these boards that the NBA is garbage, despite it being superior to college basketball in the same way. Sometimes the way a game is played is better than superior talent, regardless of the reason.

I'm sorry, but soccer was once (and still often is) dubbed "The Beautiful Game". But, when I watch the men/Brazilian women act like children and roll around on the ground without being touched...it's ugly. It shouldn't be part of the game. At all. It just pisses me off.

I thought it would be infered I meant now. Obviously pele didn't roll around like he got shot all the time. It's now apart of the game. You can either accept it like I have and watch what is higher class football, or not and watch the women's game with more integrity.

the history of soccer on the global stage has always been rife with diving ... I can think of the Italy Argentina rivalry that existed in the 50's

the diving and obstruction has always been there ... and the game of soccer i always grew up with always featured both

Also to comment on the Women's/Men's game convo: it's not to say one is better than the other, but merely that I'm more entertained by the Women's game. The Men's approach is completely different and much more cerebral and thought out, while the Women's is much more action/reaction. I just like watching the Women's game more because it has that flow, that yes comes from mistakes/miscues. Now, I'm merely speaking at the high level. Because trust me, I spent last fall with my school's Men's soccer team, and we traveled with the women. Men's was much easier to watch there. Hah

Im going to post more about Amy Adams because she makes me feel warm inside.

Her performance in the 2nd Museum movie as Amelia Earhart was much better than that film deserved. Plus I liked the outfit.

She was fun in a couple of old Office episodes.

I rented Enchanted because I was mistaken what it was about, I thought it was much darker, and while I questioned my sexuality for watching it, I thought Adams was good.

The actual rules of the game being enforced? No, I can't accept that. It ruins much of the enjoyment of the game for me personally. And I'm not an average fan who doesn't understand or appreciate soccer, I'm someone who played year round growing up and still play in rec. leagues from time to time. Rec. leagues that don't have guys rolling around on the ground and where they actually call obstruction. It's annoying to me that the game can be played properly and it's simplest levels and that the pros can't follow suit.

The Brazililan chick falling down is the perfect example - nothing wrong with her and she jumps off the stretcher and runs away. That is not "sport."

The women's game has more integrity? Did you see the U.S. Brazil game where the Brazilian fullback misteriously fell to the ground in extra time? She had the trainers come out and take her off the field on a stretcher then jumped off the stretcher and ran to the sideline to come back into the game at the first possible opportunity.

The women's game has just as much BS diving as the mens.

And I agree with those who say that the diving keeps them away from folloing soccer. I'll watch a few games a year and world cups but I won't follow the sport util they start playing with some real integrity.
