As for Boudreau's thoughts on the blue line, I'll paraphrase. The right-side defensemen will be John Carlson, Mike Green and Dennis Wideman, whom Boudreau described as “good to go and champing at the bit,” after missing the playoffs with a leg hematoma

“We never had one game last year with Wideman, Green and Carlson in the lineup,” Boudreau said. “Not one time.”

Gonna be really good puck movement from the back if one of those guys is always on the ice.

Just read it. Explains a lot. I'm much higher on him than most Caps' fans. Either way, great depth on D. If Wideman-Schultz is your 3rd line on D, that is MUCH better than most teams.

I wouldn't be surprised if we allow the fewest goals of any team this year (thought we might even prior to Vokoun signing). We probably allowed the fewest in the second half of last year.

Get the PP back on track, we look killer. Oh man, now I'm getting excited.

He didn't seem the same. It explains a lot, especially since he made such huge improvements the year before and was a whopping +50.

Yeah, I don't know much about Brouwer or Ward yet. Not sure what to expect from them. I kinda wish we'd gotten a big center (Richards maybe) on offense and filled in the role players with our younger guys. But I understand and like what they did by and large. I'm curious to see how Vokoun will do.

we'll see. I do like that, but GMGM brought in guys that have done well in the playoffs and are guys that we hate playing against which means everyone else will hate playing against us now. Ward and Brouwer played well in the postseason and Hammer has been consistant for a long time

With Beagle and King (not because I want him there, but because he's going to be there) as healthy scratch forwards and Big Johnny Erskine as healthy scratch on D. Also think Neuvy should play around 30 games, JMO though..
