Thermo throws me for a loop. The first law is based on the the fact that work and heat are path functions, but their sum, energy, is a state function.

That's so hard to grasp. How is that?

Alright, I'm set on quantum, at least as much as I need to be, and I've found a list of thermo relations, so I should be alright on that if I just look over it for a while and internalize it.
