Oh.
Extras! Nice work by Watson. But that ball looked scary off the bat.
I think Weaver's meltdown today may have cost him the Cy Young this season. Right now it's gotta be Verlander's to lose.
Everytime Verlander pitches this season it almost always leads to a no hitter watch. He is just having a fantastic season, and I am so happy he's a Tiger.
Wonder if that tool over at ESPN still believes Verlander is not an ace? LMAO.
I watched the replay, and it definitely looks like Mags was just making sure it was fair before he ran the bases."I don't hit many homers any more, so I wanted to make sure that one was going to stay fair," Ordonez said. "I'm not going to try to show up anyone in this league. That's not me."
Weaver didn't seem to think so.
"I didn't see where the ball went," Weaver said. "But when you stand there and do that, I didn't like that. A little respect in the game. I had a lot of respect for those guys but then to stand and the plate and do something like that."
Weaver yelled at Ordonez to run.
"He was yelling at me to run faster, so I told him that I'm old, that's as fast as I can run," Ordonez said.
In the end, Verlander got his 15th win, Jose Valverde got his 28th straight save and the Tigers remained in first place in the Central Division.
The final word on all the other shenanigans belongs to veteran Torii Hunter, the Angels right fielder:
"That was stupid," he said. "It was all stupid. Everybody was stupid.
"That was unprofessional on both sides."
