Perhaps if baseball was a bit more mental of a sport.

My cousin won the world series as a pitcher and I still don't give a shit about the sport.

It's fucking boring and I would rather watch my hair turn gray.

WOW!!! Who is your cousin?

Pat Dobson he was one of four 20 game winners for the O's in the early 70's. He won more games than Palmer that year and also won as a relief pitcher with the Tigers.

I loved my cousin but the sport sucks.

Eh, its hard to like a sport when you don't have a rooting interest whatsoever....

Yeah, I remember him. He had a pretty good career if I remember correctly.

How can you have a cousin playing a pro sport not be a rooting interest? I followed Pat and his team's but still prefer hockey and football over baseball.

It's just what I want to see the most.

You can find his stats here....

Pat Dobson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

(1976-77). He was best known for being one of four Orioles pitchers to win 20 games in their 1971 season.

Edit: In 1971 Dobson had a winning streak of 12 games (including nine consecutive complete games) and a scoreless inning streak of 23. That September 24, he reached his 20th win, a 7–0 shutout against the Indians. Dobson posted a 20-8, 187, 2.90 season record, and was part of the Orioles' "Big Four" pitching staff along with Dave McNally (21-5), Mike Cuellar (20-9) and Jim Palmer (20-10). Baltimore went on to win 101 games, with the distinction of having four 20-game winners in a season; only one other team in MLB history, the 1920 Chicago White Sox, have had four 20-game winners.

Watching the Leafs/Senators game here. Leafs up 2-0 and I'm not liking it. Last thing I want to see is the Leafs scoring goals and winning games, even in the preseason!!!

Baseball just isn't for everyone. I understand that. Personally I love it, but as I've said in other posts, I think playing baseball growing up is a huge reason why I like the sport so much. When people make arguments why they don't like baseball, I understand where they are coming from, even though I disagree.

I completely agree. I grew up on baseball; hitting wiffle balls in the front yard, practicing fly balls under the glaring sun. It stays with you.

Also, if you are a statistics geek - like some of us - then baseball is the best sport out there. :p
