It's marketing. Bad news is good news as far as staying in the news. He recognizes that he couldn't sustain success by being a serious artist, so he's going the route he is. Lohan, Miley Cyrus, Paris Hilton, etc. at least Dennis Rodman was talented and did what he wanted, not just publicity (though the N. Korea thing may be a bit more contrived).

Ahh... this is the first and only thing I've heard about this and all I intend on seeing. My comment stands for the rest of his behavior. If he were a well behaved person, he'd be gone. Maybe still working but who?
