Played hooky yesterday and went to the afternoon baseball game. Despite the team embarrassing themselves, the city, and their families - it was a fun day. I got there early to have a beer and say hi to Brooks. Got shot at twice, hit once but not bad and it was just a mistake. The shooter was trying to hit the woman behind me. He apologized, helped me staunch the bleeding, and gave me the rest of his beer (he wiped the top off with the bottom of his shirt) so all was well. No one is perfect, we all make mistakes.

But oh what a difference a couple years make. There were a lot more people there than the weekday day games I've gone to in the past 10 years. The atmosphere is better so the game itself is more fun. But parking and getting in and out of there is much much more difficult. Took me 20-25 minutes to get there. About 2 hours to get home.

Such a great park still. I remember when I worked not far, we'd go down for day games and buy a cheap ticket, get Boog's and sit for a few innings at the tables above the bullpen.

Nice. I usually sit on the lower deck somewhere but all the areas I normally look were filled. I saw seats in the upper deck but first row. A bit cheaper and a fantastic view.
