The Orioles have had cartoon hot dog races for years. Much of the time that got a louder reaction from the fans than the product on the field.

Today they started the cartoon race then surprised (or terrified) everyone by having these come out and race. We're in the big leagues now!

So I got kicked out of Fantasy Baseball league for changing my name to something the others deemed offensive.

Background as I changed my name to:

I need Dave Draveck's good arm!

Because of all the pitchers who I had that are hurt with arm issues.
Didn't realize it was still too soon.

Not too upset, they did give me my money back. Also, I was invited by a friend, so I didn't really know anyone. The only downside, my team was still good enough to make the playoffs.

THEY'S TRYIN TO ERASE ARE HISTARY!

Edit: Tried to link a story about Gibson now being the leader in several categories but am giving up.

Already saw at least three people going off on Facebook about how this isn't right. Nothing in baseball has ever been *more* right.

A few of the categories he over took were those that Ty Cobb was the leader. Poetic justice...

<MLB adds ***** Leagues stats, stirs record books>
NOTE: If the link doesn't work it is the top story on the MLB page on ESPN. It gets censored here.

Josh Gibson became Major League Baseball's career leader with a .372 batting average, surpassing Ty Cobb's .367,

Speaking of Josh Gibson, it is worth visiting his grave site at Allegheny Cemetery. Story behind this.... When I coached little league for my oldest (many years ago) I took his tournament team on a field trip to his grave since we were in a tournament right nearby. It was a great experience to give a little bit of history to the kids and who was probably the best baseball player ever. Sadly some of the kids weren't allowed to go and you know why.

The area he was buried you will notice no memorials and all the stones are in the ground. When you are there, you will get why.

I was playing MLB The Show's ***** League Storylines mode about Gibson and really learned a lot. Its a tremendous mode where ***** League Hall of Fame President Bob Kendrick talks about players and then you recreate key moments in their careers. Its phenomenal and Kendrick is pretty great too. And some of the old footage and audio they use is really cool.
I really liked the Gray's jersey and ordered a super cheap but surprisingly decent Gibson replica one Amazon.

This is all you would ever know that Greenlee field ever existed.

This marker is all that is left of the original Ammon field where Gibson started with the Crawfords before they moved to Greenlee. Also the Grays played games there:

Those Blue Jays city connect jerseys are something else.

I wish Rob Ford was still with us so we could see him sporting one.

You know your team sucks when you get one run and 4 hits in 11 innings against Falter and the Pirates Blowpen.
