Two days, two coaches of my favorite teams gone. Drama with both of them, really.

@Comeds Buck Showalter is the flashy name for the next Mets manager, should I be optimistic about this or terrified?

I like Buck and think he did a pretty good job here. He actually had some decent talent during the middle of his time here, and he used it well.

Man, baseball managers really do keep kicking around the longest. If Buck does get hired he'll be the fifth guy managing who managed in the 90s. To compare, NFL and NBA have 3 each (and one of each of those only coached in 99) and the NHL also has 5 of course because old boys club.

And in the defense of the NFL all the boys club from that era are essentially dead, so it is a newer boys club.

Baseball managers seem to linger on a lot later in life since they had less head trauma playing the sport.
With that said I am amazed Jim Leyland hasn't managed again.

I guess baseball is the most timeless of each sport.

Also, Buck is 65 which means he was a baby when he managed the Yankees.

I guess they are afraid the players would be scared of Buck.
