Anybody collect them? If so, what do you have that yo think is pretty cool? My favorite is probably my 04-05 SP Authentic Markus Naslund jersey card, autographed and numbered 10 out of 15.

My wife worked for a sports store in the early 90s...when they closed up shop she was allowed to snag a bunch of boxes of random sports cards. I'm sure they have some gems in them, but after a few moves they are just packed away in a storage closet somewhere. One of these days, one of these days.

When I was a just a small boy, I wandered into a card shop, and walked out with a stolen OPC 1983-1984 Steve Larmer Rookie Card. I still have it with the price they were selling it for at that time, $17.50.

I have a decent collection. 76 different Patrick Roy cards (and 9 surgically sealed packs from all of the series that came out with him on the front in 2002-03), with my favorite being the 2001 Conn Smythe card from the Topps Heritage series that year. I also have just north of 50 Mark Messiers, including the rookie card with the error. There's also a bunch of rookie cards here and there for most of the guys who broke into the league in the late 90s (Lecavalier, Tanguay, etc.) and an obscene amount of Miikka Kiprusoffs from when he was a San Jose Shark.

The only two series I collected pack-by-pack to near completion were 1990 Score and 2001-02 Topps. I've been out of the loop since 2003 though, because there are just too many different series and inserts out there. As for Game-Worn Jersey cards: Roy, Messier, Selanne, Biron, Raycroft, and Ryan Shannon.

I collected form about 75 - 85, with a few stragglers on either side of that window. All OPC.
so I still have 3 Gretzky rookies, plus pretty much everyone from that era. I think the last meaningful RC I got was a Lemieux.
The only important RC I was missing from that era was Yzerman.
but I do have about 11 copies of Minnesota North stars goalie Pete LoPresti.

I got out of collecting before the jersey cards / DNA cards / willy wonka tickets became the rage.

And people said I should've redeemed my Wonka tickets instead of having them professionally graded...

I've seen the news reports: All of those kids that went to the factory ended up dead at the hands of one of Richard Pryor's friends! :p

I have some late 80s early 90s cards but stopped collecting around 1994. Nothing better than opening up a fresh pack and wondering who you got. I have a few thousand cards I bet and the best I got was Lemieux's 2nd year Topps card. I think it may be worth $50 or so? Anyone know?

I was a baseball card collector. Unfortunately most are from the mid eighties - mid nineties and aren't worth much because of overproduction.

I like looking at them 10 years after the fact to see stats and ask, "who the fuck is this?". I also like to see the hairdos and staches from the 80s.

That is funny to see those wacko hairstyles, I gotta agree there!

I used to have a card of Jamie Quick, a catcher who played for the Royals. That was the name of on of my high school friends. And yes, I have a few Brian Bradley cards;)

You can get a few if you go to a Kings vs Ducks game, but you might have to pull them out of the urinals.

I have a few upper deck sets from the early 90s. The only recent hockey set I collected was 05-06 Upper Deck. I finished the base set easily enough, but still need a ton of the rookies. I have Crosby, Franzen, Lundqvist and Getzlaf, but still need Ovechkin and Parise, plus loads of other players that aren't really stars.

My dad has a lot of baseball card sets from the 60s, 70s and 80s that are still worth quite a bit. I kind of want to complete the 2010 Topps Heritage baseball set because they are based on the 1961 Topps set and my dad has a complete set of 61s.
