OT: Happy Halloween 2012

drywaller finished his sanding at my place last night ... kids and wife at inlaws because of the dusty mess ... im inside cleaning up and doing some electrical, working all night because cabinet installers come friday and i still have to frame out a floor to ceiling duct that will be behind the pantry ... pissing rain outside ... punks lighting off fireworks everywhere ... have to go outside and get some more wire out of my garage ... turn on the light outside front door ... walking back up to front door from garage and

woman and her daughter ... probably a 5 year old ... ringing my door bell ... TRICK OR TREAT!!!!

Poor turnout this year for me so I have a great big bag of candy that I certainly do not need. I have two lights in the front yard, one on a post about 10 feet from my door and one right next to my door. I assume the light next to my door is another casualty of Sandy because its not working now. I changed the bulb and nothing. So even though I had a bunch of lights on inside, and the one outside, we saw at least one big group pass us by thinking we were not participating.

We did make some young friends though. As it got later and we knew we wouldnt get many kids we started giving great big handfuls of candy to the ones who showed up. We had a couple kids happily comment on how much we gave.

I actually had another kid request a cherry tootsie roll and he had me digging around the bag. If his parents were not there I would have let Rocket stick his head in the kids basket and help himself.
