Great find. Seems like a kick ass teacher. Wish mine taught us headbanging music back in the day. :tsk:

I watched a few others, but if you are from my generation you might want to check out their Iron Maiden cover of Number of the Beast. Great vocals. Pretty kick ass stuff all over that page.

Or maybe I just liked it because one of my bands did a lot of Maiden covers back then and I remember playing this. The drums for that band were always high energy stuff. Drummer slightly rushes once or twice, but really does a good job overall.

I liked Malmsteen, but I don't think I ever played with a guitarist that could play either him or satriani. I did have a track I used to drum to off surfing with the alien though.

But I had some oddly narrow music tastes when it came to drumming. Metal and uptempo jazz. Loved me some buddy rich.

Never said I didn't? :noidea:

Was never a fan of quiet riot, but how can you be a metal head and not like some level of Ozzy's stuff. I mean he was the father of the genre and Rhodes was a big part of that. How many drummers from that era didn't play several of their songs at least as warm-ups?

The big-hair stuff of the 70's and 80's wasn't my thing. QR, Poison, twisted sister, etc. Just not my thing. Used to beat people up that listed to that stuff.

I still remember seeing Metallica for the first time at the moore theater in '81 I think it was. I was freaking young, but we went to go see a black metal band called Venom And they opened for them. Only time I saw Cliff before he died and he was just beast on the bass.
