OT: Divisional Playoff Weekend

I just really hate the Jets... I wanna either see the Steelers win it, or Aaron Rodgers. I'm more of a player fan in football than a team fan.

I lost a lot of respect for Aaron Rodgers today. A lot. It could of just been a bad day for him, but there's a video of him ignoring a woman requesting a sig in the airport. Happens, right? But she's a breast cancer patient (wearing the hat, just left from chemo to get his signature on her breast cancer/packers hat, so it's sort of obvious?) who just wanted his auto...luckily Clay Matthews was kind enough to stop and be nice to her. Said he heard her story and knew she was waiting for them. Not usually a big deal, and they even removed the video, but that's just not cool. I'm sure they'll make it up to her.

There could be a million legitimate reasons he didn't stop to sign it...but everyone else was signing stuff. It was just sad because she was talking to the news crew and said she wore that hat all the time because she lost her hair and wanted to cover it, and she specifically stated she wanted "Aaron's autograph". If I know the Pack's organization though, they'll step up and do something for her. But I was sort of angry that the video was taken down. It got to twitter and people got mad, so they just took it off.

That's for sure, but the people that are actually cheering for them...well, it just makes me think of Montreal last season. I just want everyone to get as beat up as possible.

The Jets D is completely beatable, Brady showed some of their holes toward the end there, and the last time the Steelers met up with them was without Troy and Heath. That's a big difference. That and Spaeth dropped a GW TD at the very end. Sanchez v. a full/healthy Steelers D? HAH.

please note that i am a die hard packer fan, and i say this only because when i read this, i was truly shocked. this is a complete contradiction to everything i have known about rodgers as a fan since he was drafted by the packers. of course i don't know him personally, only the public persona he has put out, but he has always come across as a very humble and appreciative player. he has been involved in many charities around the green bay area, often without any cameras or fanfare. he is very well respected and well liked by the community there for the work he has done. here is a link to some coverage of an event he was invloved in:

if you read it, you'll see why this apparent snubbing makes no sense,

furthermore, the original article posted on profootball talk weekly was written without any background information, without any confirmation and without even interviewing rodgers or the woman involved (and written by a lifelong vikings fan).

while there are numerous issues that directly contradict the assertions in this article, such as reports that he signed much of this woman's apparel last week after the eagles game, this is not an attempt to make excuses. in truth, he's a pro athlete, i don't know him and he doesn't directly do anything to affect my life or anything i do, so i don't really care if he's a dick. it would only put him in a category of so many other athletes.

i'm only trying to point out the fact that if he really truly snubbed this lady out of being cold hearted, it would be in complete contradiction and out of character from what he has so far portrayed. is this a case of someone in the media making a knee jerk overblown reaction out of a 5 second video clip without any context? that seems just as plausible to me.

It wasn't the article that made me sad as much as the video did, and like I said earlier, there could be one of a million reasons it happened, but I was just surprised that of all the people standing in that line of fans he ignored the one who's appearance screamed "cancer patient!". I truly hope it was nothing...it'd be better that way, because I've never had an issue with Rodgers or the Pack, always been very classy.
