OT Demar Dotson

It’s a good signing. The interior of this unit looks really promising. Dotson really solidified one of the T positions (I’m guessing he starts) and I’m not as down on Bolles as many are. I know there are some issues with his technique but the penalties don’t bother me as much given how inconsistent the league assesses holding. I see Miller getting held all the time with no penalties, holds often more flagrant than what Bolles does. Can’t fault Bolles for the fact the league seems to have zeroed in on him and let the same exact or worse slide with his colleagues on other teams.

It's because he's not smart enough to pretend he's not holding. He just stands out there like a big, dumb ape and the refs feel obligated to call it.

Bolles was getting flagged when plays were no were near him. Hustle plays I would call it ... let's hope it has finally soaked in his head.

Let’s hope so, it would be awesome if it clicks with him this year. Understand this: my position is not that he doesn’t need to be better, it’s that the league does. I’ve not taken a holding penalty seriously since 2015. Hell, the Carolina Panthers probably wouldn’t have even crossed mid-field in SB50 if the refs called holding on half the plays it happened. If the league called this consistently I’d be right there with everyone else, frustrated at Bolles.

As for the Dotson signing, I’m stoked. Huge upgrade and I think we actually have a pretty solid unit going into camp.

Great signing. Belichick was looking at trying to bring him in. We lost Cannon because of Covid and having an immune problem from cancer that he had a few years ago. Elway was smart to move as fast as he did...
