well for those that know me Im a big fan of Zombie um everything. movies, comics, animations (yes there are some good ones) i just watched over the last few weeks the british zombie short series called Dead Set. It was about a Big Brother set that is oblivious to the Zombie apocalypse happening right outside the big brother set. and continue to live out their "show" its about a 6 show series and I have to say it was incredibly well done and even unique to some of the other Zombie shows out there.

I highly recommend this one.

Im about to now watch The Walking Dead. anyone see it?

I have the Dead Set recorded, will watch sometime this week.

The Walking Dead was decent IMO but nothing great. I know they were planning 6 one hour episodes and then decided the premiere was going to be 90 minutes so I assume there was a bunch of stuff that they were going to cut that stayed it. They should have cut it, there were a number of scenes that really slowed the whole thing down.

If there were 20 less minutes I bet my opinion of it is a lot higher.

just saw Lesbian Vampire Killers the other day.
was quite reminiscent of S.o.t.D, except with... well... Lesbian Vampires.

rather funny.

I enjoyed the first episode of The Walking Dead. I liked the slow pace and the build up. you know what was coming but it took the time to actually get to know the feeling of him trying to figure out what was happening.

its a series not a mini series and its trying to get a second year. so Im thinking many episodes will have the build up this one did. I think Im going to enjoy this show alot

the one thing I didnt like about the Walking Dead first show(highlight the below to read you may have to embiggen it too)

<Spoiler>
Why is it that whenever someone goes into a coma that has a wife and child wakes up after an disaster to find the wife missing with the child and that said wife ends up having a romantic affair with the coma persons best friend or brother/sister etc....

its the one thing that bugged me about the first show. but overall very good.

Since people watched now heres what I would have cut out, spoilers if you havent watched.

The long scene where Rick looked in the park for the woman and the father tried to lure his wife out and shoot her.
I would have left the camp out with the wife and his partner and had the first contact be on when he was on the tank.
While I liked the opening scene I may have cut it and started in the police car.
I would have sliced the hell out of the opening scene in the police car.

There, I may be nitpicking, but especially the first two on my list I thought really slowed the show down. Liked a lot of it very much, and loved the ending.

huh. I didn't have a problem with any of those. (I won't quote them, as they'll show up).
I thought the pace was great. Did you watch it live Comeds? AMC is pretty notorious for clogging up shows with 5 minute commercials. having zapped through them, i thought the show moved pretty well. #1 especially on your list adds emotion to the characters.

agreed. #1 in the park I thought was important for the main character at least to me.

that being said it was also a great shot for the zombie makeup for this series. some of the best I have seen in a while. I remember the first days.....

nothing beats this I think :)

this actor was so over the top that she became a cultural icon for Zombie Fans..... from the Original Dawn of the Dead

I watched it the same night but on DVR, I do agree that the scene in the park sets up the main character as sympathetic individual which may be important, I just thought the combined scene went on too long.

Great makeup and gore. Probably the goriest and most violent show I've seen on non pay cable ever.

I was about to say "cmon man - no way that was violent" then I realized holy shit I am desensitized to violence on TV now. it was very violent for its content (head shots, bites, etc...) I just kinda passed it off as casual.....

trip to the shrink may be in order for me :)
