I think it's more of we want to win now mentality. Maybe they go 3-13, but the year after watch out. New England sheds payroll all the time, they just haven't had to replace Brady yet. They had a pretty awesome draft IMO, and still have good skill players. Don't know what their coaching staff is like but look at our turnaround...

No team ever uses the term "rebuilding" regardless of sport so it doesn't surprise me the Colts wouldn't either.

At least in the NFL though a couple of good drafts and you can be pretty good in a hurry and as long as Luck lives up to who they think he is than they are actually in good shape.

I just was saying you can be back to being good in a couple of seasons if you draft well and as long as the franchise QB is in place it makes the process all the more quicker.

They haven't lost their brand, they've just changed their image. If having a rookie QB is rebuilding then a lot of teams constantly are in this phase. If you don't get past the basement it can't be rebuilding, just building.

Wow Seriously, so getting a whole new coaching staff, and completely changing the roster and personnel groups on the team as well as making front office moves such as GM. That is not rebuilding? Then by all means do explain

In the sense of it, yes the Colts are in rebuilding mode because of the reasons you just stated. But their mentality isn't in rebuilding mold. I reckon it's like Detroit, I don't think Swartz said hey we are rebuilding. I don't think Harbaugh said that. And that's why I don't think Reggie Wayne will say it.

Yes for a spectator we think they are rebuilding. Yet, not this year, but if next year they win 10 games will you say they were rebuilding or just hit a speed bump?

Personally I'd go for the latter. To me rebuilding is what the Niners did, it signifies a long period of crappiness. The Colts have reason to be optimistic, and therefore won't lump themselves in that category.

Would I casually call them rebuilding yes, but for all intensive purposes I see it as more a passing of the guard. They still have a couple big names, they still have talent. And the draft showed they still have smart people in the office.
